WATCHER is a one-man old-school Heavy Metal band from Skövde. Formed by Viktor Gustafsson in 2023 due to Gustafsson’s other playground LETHAL STEEL being on hold. The sound is rather raw and leans into the Classic Metal side of things. Viktor’s vocals are clean and sharp, the riffs straight forward, the tempo varies from mid-to up-tempo and overall, the material is utterly melodic. The rhythms are serviceable and far from complex but as this is not Groove Metal no one really gives a flying fuck. This is music for people that were born in the 80s or at least understand what it means to not have every movie and song at hand if you just use the right app for 30 seconds. Every now and then Viktor’s vocals remind of legends as Messiah Marcolin. This is old-school as fuck and this is fine as it is, no upgrades needed to bang your head and have a great time. At first listen there’s no track that stands out but that ain't due to a lack of quality but rather due to the fact that standing out is extremely hard to do today amid a flood of decent stuff coming out every week.
