Album Review
What does a HOCICO fan need for a perfect evening? Obviously HOCICO playing live in their town. But it is not always possible to play live everywhere at every time. So the Mexican Electro musicians Erk Aicrag and Racso Agroyam found a really well solution: Recording their live shows and make a really cool wooden box with a lot of merchandise for their fans called ‘Blood on the Red Square’. In fact they found the Russian audience the best on any tour they decided to record two of the “Tiempos de Furia” shows at Moscow and Yekaterinburg. The result is a totally powerful live CD and a live DVD with great sound. A must-have for every fan in fact that in the limited box includes a steel HOCICO hip flask, two Vodka shot glasses (also with HOCICO logo) and the Russian badge of honour with HOCICO logo as well as a numbered ownership certificate plus CD/DVD.
The box is well-done and it all fits perfectly to the Russian show. The Vodka glasses are really useful and also dishwasher-safe. The hip flask can be useful for the next few festivals. The CD/DVD in digi-pack style looks also great. The CD has a great sound and let’s you really dive into the sounds and shouts of Erk Aicrag. ’Flesh to Lacerate’ is one of my personal favourites on this CD because Erk’s voice is so powerful in that song. The Russian audience seems to be really fanatic. So choosing Russia for recording was a good choice. I heard a lot of people saying that they were disappointed by the live DVD because the DVD menu was not that stylish. Also fans moaned about recording only eight songs and not the whole concert. I cannot agree telling the DVD is a total fail, of course recording the whole show would be more powerful and more satisfying for the hardcore HOCICO fans. But being able to watch eight great songs performed live any time you want is a good start. After recording in Japan and Russia HOCICO should e thinking about recording in Germany. This would make the German fans really happy.
