Hafen Rock Day 2 with Idgy, Vivie Ann, Châlice, 5th Avenue, Bon Scott, Dark Age and Emil Bulls
So day two of the 825th birthday of the harbour of Hamburg started. At the Hafen Rock Stage the program began again at the midday time. Today the United Elb Choir opened the show. There were many more visitors than the day before and also at the fish market terrain it was better filled at this early time. No storm warnings, but still not so nice weather, so this was another point why the stampede was greater.

Hafen Rock Day 1 with Yonks, Suizide Queenz, The Pleasures, Rogers, Maggers United, Die Toten Ärzte
It is the first day of the 825th birthday of the harbour of Hamburg, and the first visitors arrived round the midday time. The weather was Hamburg-like with a low breezy and grey sky accompanied with some rain drops. But this won't discourage anybody to rock the next three days on the Hafen Rock on the terrain of the famous fish market right next to the harbour. The Shanty choir WINDROSE opened the Astra Hafen Rock Stage traditionally like the years before. The Hafen Rock took place for the 21st time and already at the early hour on Friday afternoon, some visitors found their way to the stages. Today, on day one, "Cover bands from Hamburg" are on the schedule. Almost every band got cover songs with them, so it is a good entry for the beginning.

Nine Inch Nails & Cold Cave
The beautiful old fortification called Zitadelle, built at the Renaissance, was crowded with lots of fans from all over Germany (it was the only NIN show in the country besides festival appearances at Rock im Park and Rock am Ring) and even Europe, looking forward for the first concert NIN gave in Germany this year. I talked to guests from many different German cities and even from Hungary and Italy. The weather was dry, but cold, perfect for a concert. The audience was mostly older, but there were also young girls and boys and I saw even some children with her parents or grandparents. The atmosphere was peaceful, but full of expectation.

Schwarzblut & Heliophile
The Dutch formation SCHWARZBLUT has been around since 2007. Last month they released their third full length album ‘Gebeyn aller Verdammten’. It received perfect reviews from all over Europe and by the looks of it the band has made the best album yet. The release of their album was accompanied by three live shows and the one at their hometown of Deventer is the official album-release party. They invited HELIOPHILE for support.

Gotham Sounds Festival II Day 2: Sweet Ermengarde, Red Sun Revival, Winter Severity Index, The Last Cry, UNI_FORM
Refreshed and raring to go, the second day of the Gotham Sounds Festival got off to a rather slow start. A two hour delay could have put a real downer on things but actually it gave everyone more time to mingle and catch-up, and there was good-humour and a sense of casual “never mind” before the main doors finally opened and everyone poured in.
