The Birthday Massacre
The Canadian band ‘The Birthday Massacre’ gave their first live-concert in Berlin. Their support act was ‘Jesus on Extasy’. ‘Klimt 1918’ had been scheduled as well but they could not make it due to bad weather conditions. http://www.nothingandnowhere.com/

The Birthday Massacre, Atargatis, The Slimp
It was well over a year since my last visit to Krefeld, but only a few days since I saw The Birthday Massacre. That time on a very cool ship in the harbour of Copenhagen, Denmark. I was very eager to compare that performance with the one I was about to see. And of course also to catch the performances of the other two bands, that actually were quite unknown to me.

Amphi Day 2: Frozen Plasma, Faun, Dope Stars Inc., Fixmer/McCarthy, Letzte Instanz, Samsas Traum, Negative, And One, Schandmaul
On Sunday, the second festival day, about 6,000 people made again their way to Cologne to see their favourite bands. The afternoon started very early at about 1:00 and Cologne welcomed us with clear blue sky and sun shine. Nearly perfect festival weather. It only was a little bit too warm and if you were not careful you went home with a sun burn afterwards. Today the program was running on only one stage what gave a much more relaxed atmosphere to the whole day. People were lying in the grass, enjoyed their food and drinks or just went shopping in-between the bands or when a not liked band was playing. The well mixed program again offered music from the different dark music genres.

WGT Day 3+4: Agonoize, XP8, Lola Angst, Metallspürhunde, Cephalgy, Oomph!, Proyecto Mirage, Dupont, Michigan, Beborn Beton, Frozen Plasma, Solitary Experiments, The Twins, Mesh, Deine Lakaien, Tactical Sekt, God Module, Feindflug, And One
The third day of WGT should be unfortunately the last day for some of us – so it was for me. Luckily the weather was a bit better than on the previous day and so we went to Parlbühne in a very good mood. It was a bit cold though but the music should heat us up enough. Sadly we cannot provide reviews of all of the bands. But at least we’ll show you some pics and give you setlists of some shows. http://www.wave-gotik-treffen.de/

Amphi Day 1: This Morn’ Omnia, Cephalgy, Welle:Erdball, Unheilig, The 69 Eyes, Subway to Sally, Lola Angst, Calmando Qual, VNV Nation, CombiChrist, Diary of Dreams
It was the second round now for the Amphi Festival. This time with another location: the festival moved from the Amphi theatre in Gelsenkirchen to the Tanzbrunnen in Cologne which is situated directly at the river Rhine. Usually in a very nice surrounding but at the moment there are a lot of building activities around so it was even a bit difficult to find the parking lots. But the securities were very helpful and so it was no problem at all.
