29th July 2006
Satyrian, Pleurisy, Legion Of The Damned, Vomitory
When I first heard about a festival named "Stonehenge" I immediately thought about the impressive magic circle of standing stones in England and associated this festival with - of course - Celtic music. But when I started reading more about this festival in Steenwijk it had to be noticed that there wasn't anything Celtic about it at all... When reading the line-up of artists it became clear that it would be some heavy and loud happening instead. You wouldn't expect a band like "Prostitute Disfigurement" for example to play some laid-back, enchanting melodies featuring Celtic instruments like a harp and bodhran. On the Stonehenge website it was mentioned that the festival was sold out, but it didn't really seem so crowded when we arrived at the location...

Universum, Stuttgart, Germany
August 24th 2006
Front Line Assembly, Stromkern
The 'Universum' is a nice, small venue on the campus of the University of Stuttgart; during the last years, mainly Punk concerts have taken place in this location, and on the weekends different club nights with varying music are organized. This Thursday evening the presenters had something special and quite unusual to offer: The well-known Canadian EBM/Industrial project 'Front Line Assembly' supported by the good-humoured guys from STROMKERN. When the latter started playing at about half past eight, the 'Universum' was nearly half-filled, and it should remain like that till the end of the whole concert night. www.universum-stuttgart.de

Summer Breeze, Dinkelsbühl, Germany
17th – 19th August 2006
Summer Breeze Day 1: Saltatio Mortis, Moonspell, 1349, Finntroll, ASP, Kreator, Katatonia
This year the festival moved to Dinkelsbühl, Bavaria, so we expected some changes. This was shown to be true bye some various night police controls in which even the lenses of the cameras were held for drug hiding places, but let us talk about the music first. After an astonishingly quick ticket-changing and a friendly car control (strict glass ban on the whole area) we arrived with the last sounds of THE HAUNTED. After a short meeting with well known and friendly photographers we went directly to the ‘Pain Stage’ (second stage).
