M’era Luna Festival 2015 - Impressions
This year’s M’era Luna was with 25,000 visitors sold-out for the third time in a row and the race for 2016 is already on. Of course there were the obligatory Friday traffic jams. But when people finally arrived they could celebrate the whole weekend in bright sun and best festival weather with top acts like ASP, ROB ZOMBIE, NIGHTWISH or EINSTÜRZENDE NEUBAUTEN.
Promoter FKP Scorpio took special care for the comfort of the attendees this year including the physical well-being. Thus, the festival organizers presented an expanded food offering consisting of regional, organic, vegan and delicacy stalls leaving no culinary wishes open and which were praised by the visitors. Furthermore, many playful decorations like the Steampunk outfit of the Hangar stage, walking acts and an illuminated lake on the festival ground turned the whole area into a fairy wonderland, especially at night. The new conceptual orientation of the area led to a better arranged infield and more space for all visitors with nearly perfect view onto stage from all angles. The amount of seats was nearly doubled what was highly welcomed by the attendees.
Like every year, the readings of Markus Heitz, Christian von Aster and David Grashoff and ASP & Kai Meyer as well as the opulent fashion show enjoyed great popularity. Traditionally, the medieval market was well-visited and an attraction for all participants into the late evening hours. Another highlight was the M’era Sol, a picnic in black and white in the middle of Hildesheim. Around 100 festival visitors met around same amount of inhabitants for a cosy breakfast together. It is not too much said that this year’s festival was again a big success.
And the coming season is already ahead since first acts for 2016 are already confirmed. Visitors can look forward to Fields Of The Nephilim, The Lord Of The Lost Ensemble, Die Krupps, Faun, Suicide Commando, Letzte Instanz and Stahlmann. Many more bands will follow in the coming weeks and months. Next year’s M’era Luna will take place on 13th and 14th August 2016. Tickets are already available at www.meraluna.de, wwweventim.de or by phone via +49 (0)1806-853 653.
