Royal Republic
The band came together in 2007 and advanced to a degree in an amount of time that is surprising. 2010 is the year for them to conquer audiences with their debut album, simply titled ‘We Are The Royal’. Arrogant or overly self-conscious? It seems that it’s neither one nor the other. It’s just that these guys have a good sense of humour and like to play with it, and even though they’ve just one album out at the moment they’re perfectly able to entertain bigger audiences for even much longer than the album lasts.

Welcome back control.org from hiatus with their latest offering "degenerate". There are no hidden agendas here, just dirty south gothic house music continuing the control.org tradition of honest low tech electronic dance music with industrial/techno/synthpop/ebm flavours. On the new album what they offer are 13 tracks including a c2.control.org remix of the title track. The geographically random crew have collaborated via smoke signal, ship mail, shortwave and telepathy to cobble together this return of the control.org sound nicely tidying up an era while introducing some new sounds. Limited, numbered initial run of cds from control freak records and digital release to follow.Source: Newsletter

Scandinavia and electro are guarantors for quality for about two decades now. Countless releases from Apoptygma Berzerk, Covenant, Waves Under Water, Cat Rapes Dog, Beati Mortui to Spetsnaz and Elegant Machinery. With SUBSTRAAT, driving old-school EBM from Norway with a charismatic voice makes its debut, the voice at times reminding of COVENANT’s Eskil. Songs like ‘Catch Me’ and ‘Adrenaline’ equally claw to the dance floors and your ears with their melodies and straight grooves. Torben Schmidt, label head of Infacted Recordings, was that much excited, he honoured the band with a contribution to the ‘Nacht der Maschinen Vol.3’. There sure is a lot more to come of the trio Terje, Petter and Jarle. The double album besides 11 analogue classics includes a remix disc with renditions of Kant Kino, NorthBorne and others.Source: Newsletter
