Under the title “Tranquilo,” the band presented their songs for the first time in unusually calm, acoustic arrangements, revealing a completely different side of their artistry. The response was overwhelming, and ever since, many fans have been hoping for a continuation of this extraordinary format.

Now, the time has finally come. With “Tranquilo II,” IN EXTREMO are once again embarking on an acoustic tour. Sixteen years after the first chapter, a lot has happened. New albums have been released, numerous songs have found their way into the repertoire, and many of them are just waiting to be brought to life in a new acoustic form.

Sometimes a story doesn’t begin at the beginning, but in the echo - a guitar chord that lingers like a memory, a voice that feels as though it has carried through the years without ever growing quieter. Three decades after their debut, PLACEBO return to that very echo and realise it never truly disappeared.

Back in 1996, at the height of Britpop, this band was a disruption. While others celebrated beer, nation and nostalgia, Brian Molko sang of androgyny, addiction and alienation. It was music like an open secret: vulnerable, provocative and radically honest. Songs such as ‘Nancy Boy’ and ‘36 Degrees’ were not hits in the conventional sense, but statements - sharp-edged, uncomfortable, necessary.
