Two bands, two generations, one shared history - and in 2027, side by side on tour for the very first time: IN EXTREMO and FEUERSCHWANZ are embarking on a major co-headlining journey under the title “Heute wird der Himmel brennen“.When IN EXTREMO began combining historical instruments with Rock and Metal in the mid-1990s, a completely new musical direction was born. What started back then as a bold experiment developed into one of the most successful movements in the German-language Rock landscape.
Today, FEUERSCHWANZ are among the most exciting protagonists of this genre. With their unmistakable blend of Folk, Metal and tongue-in-cheek epicness, they have conquered Europe’s biggest stages in recent years. Using their very own signature style, they have successfully carried the foundation once laid by IN EXTREMO into the next generation.
For the first time, both bands will now share the stage as equal co-headliners on a single tour. Their paths have crossed repeatedly over many years - now two line-ups meet who have shaped and advanced medieval rock in distinct ways.
Each evening offers two full headlining shows. IN EXTREMO and FEUERSCHWANZ will present their greatest classics, current songs and a few collaborative surprises. On top of that, the shows will feature everything that has made both acts some of Europe’s most extraordinary live performers for years: elaborate productions, historical instruments, a spectacular fire and pyro show, and an atmosphere that unites thousands of people night after night.
The evening will be opened by the band RAGNARÖK from Italy. The duo combines Norse mythology, traditional Folk sounds and modern arrangements into an atmospheric musical experience, transporting the audience into the world of Vikings, myths and ancient legends with epic storytelling.
The “Heute wird der Himmel brennen“ Tour 2027 is more than just a concert tour. It showcases how vibrant and versatile a musical genre has become that has been connecting people across different generations for over three decades. Where tradition meets the present, it is not nostalgia that arises, but new energy. When IN EXTREMO and FEUERSCHWANZ tour together, it becomes clear how far this journey has already led - and that it is far from over.
