Sixteen years ago, a special concert concept caused great excitement among IN EXTREMO fans. Under the title “Tranquilo,” the band presented their songs for the first time in unusually calm, acoustic arrangements, revealing a completely different side of their artistry. The response was overwhelming, and ever since, many fans have been hoping for a continuation of this extraordinary format. Now, the time has finally come. With “Tranquilo II,” IN EXTREMO are once again embarking on an acoustic tour. Sixteen years after the first chapter, a lot has happened. New albums have been released, numerous songs have found their way into the repertoire, and many of them are just waiting to be brought to life in a new acoustic form.
This step fits perfectly with the band’s identity. IN EXTREMO have always been known for their experimental spirit and have built a reputation for surprising their fans with unusual concert concepts and unique venues. From their early days on medieval markets to major festival and arena shows around the globe, they have repeatedly proven that they see musical boundaries not as limitations, but as invitations.
“Tranquilo II” continues this tradition consistently. The tour will deliberately take place in carefully selected, atmospheric venues, including some of the most beautiful concert halls in the German-speaking world. Instead of large stages and pyrotechnic spectacles, the focus this time is on atmosphere, intimacy, and musical nuance.
Audiences can look forward to truly special, intimate evenings. IN EXTREMO will present their classics as well as rarely performed gems in acoustic arrangements, along with surprising reinterpretations of their hits and anthems. Familiar melodies will suddenly appear in a new light - sometimes stripped-down and touching, sometimes playful and unexpected.
For this tour, IN EXTREMO have also prepared a special surprise. The band will be joined by outstanding guest musicians: Oliver Satyr and Niel Mitra from FAUN, as well as violinist Justin Ciuche, who will enrich the “Tranquilo” concept with additional sonic textures and musical virtuosity. FAUN are among the world’s leading bands in blending ancient soundscapes with modern music and have set international standards in the genre with numerous successful albums and hundreds of concerts.
With their distinctive sound combining modern Rock and centuries-old musical influences, IN EXTREMO have created their own genre and become arguably the most famous and successful Medieval Rock band in the world. For three turbulent decades, the group has captivated millions of fans worldwide. Seven of their albums have been certified gold or platinum, four of which reached number one on the German album charts.
Yet no matter how big the stages have become, one idea has always remained central for IN EXTREMO: celebrating music, togetherness, and community. With “Tranquilo II,” the band now aims to bring this feeling to life in a new, more intimate way.
For fans of the band and for anyone who wants to experience their music from a completely new perspective, this tour will be something truly special. “Tranquilo II” is a must for every IN EXTREMO fan.
