Review Flash

Sweden’s THUNDERMOTHER assembled in 2009 to slay like Randy Rhoads and Zakk Wylde. Originally being a band with both male and female members that fact should change due to a worsening of the climate within the band, so Fillippa Nässil kicked all people out of her band and got a new line-up. Now a full blown bad-ass band of all female artists THUNDERMOTHER began to ascend to the Rock’n’Roll Olympus, one step at a time. ‘Black And Gold’ is the bands fifth output and it has all the trademarks this kind of music needs: sing-a-long tracks that scream for airplay, catchy choruses and overall music to rock out to that is placed between old-school 80s Hard Rock, PINK and some good old country inspired heart-wrenching ballads (‘Hot Mess’). If they ever really make a remake of ‘Roadhouse’ they need to feature at least one song of THUNDERMOTHER because this is the style and feel. Before you think I am a fanboy, I really ain't one but I dig Guernica Mancini’s voice to be honest and the rest of the music just chimes in to the vibe she got.

Conclusion: If you like to rock out while drinking beer and whiskey, smoke too much and lose yourself after a hard day’s work you can do so while listening to THUNDERMOTHER.
