Stormborn & Support: Yavenirie Amok, Heathen Kings and Ravenhym
Tonight’s entertainment was to be had in the other country that is sarf Lunnen (South London) in the New Cross Inn. This is a venue that has been putting on musical events for years and is situated between New Cross and New Cross Gate train stations. So, whether you are travelling from London Bridge Station or travelling on the London Overground the venue is easy to get to albeit far from the bright lights of the West End. The train stations are also convenient for evacuation purposes because apart from attending a gig at the New Cross Inn I don’t know why anyone would want to come to New Cross. It’s an awful, dirty and graffiti ridden place that reminds me of areas of Berlin and Leipzig. The indiscriminate tagging and gaudy use of spray paint does nothing for the area apart from demeaning it and exuding an attitude of “Fuck You!” and “I’ve given up!”

Die Krupps & Frontline Assembly - “The Machinists Reunited Tour” 2022 - Support: Tension Control
I am lucky enough to live in Wroclaw because this is the city that is always on the list when it comes to the Machinists United tours. We had a chance to see TENSION CONTROL, FRONTLINE ASSEMBLY, and DIE KRUPPS for the third time now. These are always highly energetic, incredible events loaded with brilliant music, scenic energy, and adrenaline. Wroclaw was the second city on the tour that kicked off on the 8th of August in Warsaw. Much as the bands we’re still warming up, I dare say we could see the best of them.

W-Fest 2022 - Some words about the festival & Impressions Gallery
That was it, five days of music from the eighties and nineties with a lot of bands I have never seen before. With perfect weather, we experienced a very relaxed festival at the small beach of Oostende in Belgium. Since I had to work a lot I asked visitors what they thought about the festival…

W-Fest 2022 Day 5 with Robin S, Blackbox, Heaven 17, Go West, Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey, Sheila E, Belinda Carlisle and Holly Johnson
Here we are already with the last day of the festival. It was a good ride so far. Also this day greeted us with perfect festival weather… a bit over 20 degrees, sunny and no rain in sight. The line-up was offering some very special bands once more and I was especially looking forward to the last show of the day, HOLLY JOHNSON.

W-Fest 2022 Day 4 with Cutting Crew, Londonbeat, Arrested Development, Deacon Blue, Cock Robin, ABC, Tony Hadley, Del Amitri and UB40
Today, I expected a lot for me. There were several artists I liked to see… starting with CUTTING CREW and LONDONBEAT, going in with TONY HADLEY and ending quite late with UB40. So could the performances meet my expectations? We would see. At least the weather was really nice again, sunny, some clouds, not too warm with only three drops of rain during TONY HADLEY. One could say perfect festival weather.
