Kasematten Festival 2016 Day 1 with Evi Vine, Still Patient?, Near Earth Orbit, Syntec, Wayne Hussey, Kirlian Camera
Taking place in a cave makes the quite young Kasematten Festival without any doubt a truly special event within the dark scene. In 2015, the festival took place for the very first time at the sandstone cave Langenstein in Halberstadt and about 1,000 folks had a great black celebration together. This year, the line-up once again was calling for a successful festival. Legendary Wayne Hussey, lead singer of THE MISSION and former guitarist of THE SISTER OF MERCY, was there on April 15, just to mention one of the fantastic artists.

Clan of Xymox & Decoded Feedback
Eighteen years after the first visit to Buenos Aires, the band founded in 1981, originally from Netherland, performed again in Argentina playing old hits and also new ones, a thorough going-over under the sight of Ronny Moorings 35 years of career. The band has 15 studio albums, the first one from 1985 and the last one from 2014. An excellent curriculum from a couple of friends from a little city (Nijmegen) in Netherlands. Anka Wolbert and Pieter Nooten left the band in the early 90’s, and now, Moorings and his partner in art (an also in life) Mojca Zugna are the more “familiar faces” of the band. They actually live in Leipzig, Germany.

Patrick Wolf and Calpernia Addams
It's been three and a half years since PATRICK WOLF graced the grounds of Hotel Shanghai for the last time – back then as a DJ. Hotel Shanghai has a beautiful, hip, and colourful interior and is actually a club but since Wolf is friends with the owner of the club, it was decided that he would play his Ruhr area show in the club. The venue holds up to approximately 300 people and has two grounds – the lower one is for dancing and the upper one is a sort of balcony and designed for hanging out while still being able to see what's going on at the party. It filled up rather quickly with devoted fans and unfortunately, some of them were rude enough to just consider what would be a good view for them. Seldom have I experienced so little respect for one another at a concert.

Wayne Hussey & Evi Vine
Does this man really need an introduction? Perhaps only for those too young to remember that Wayne Hussey´s THE MISSION were once one of the biggest acts in the UK with hits as 'Butterfly On The Wheel', 'Deliverance' or 'Beyond The Pale'. Following his departure from THE SISTERS OF MERCY, in which Hussey was the guitarist, he founded THE MISSION together with bass player Craig Adams who left the SISTERS at the same time as Hussey. Now he was back in Cologne for a solo show, supported by EVI VINE.
