Texas - “30th Anniversary of Southside” Tour
The British band around Sharleen Spiteri has been active for more than 30 years now. Their first album ‘Southside’ was also 30 years old. But because of the pandemic, the Brits were unfortunately unable to celebrate their 30th anniversary as they wished. Their tour through Europe was postponed several times until the time came now. On Sunday, the band finally performed at the Rockhal. Despite what felt like the onset of winter, many fans went to the 30th anniversary celebration of the likeable Sharleen Spiteri and her band.

Corrosion Fest 2022 with Inkubus Sukkubus, Balaam and the Angel, In Isolation, Long Night, Fleisch, Novus UK, 1919, IAMWARFACE, Gothzilla, West Wickhams
The UK has a long-standing romance with seaside town Goth festivals with the twice-yearly world-famous Whitby Gothic Weekend. However, the weekend in Whitby seems to have stalled somewhat, with many Goths viewing the weekend as little more than a fancy dress weekend after the invasion of none-Goth visitors to the town seeking a Halloween style party. So, lately there has been several newer events in coastal towns that Goths can get their fix from without a drunken badly dressed Dracula or pirate throwing up on their Gothic finery. I sincerely hope all the festivals survive, including Whitby, and I welcome these newer events - especially when so well organised as this festival turned out to be.

Timo Kotipelto & Netta Skog - “Acoustic Harmonies”
Timo Kotipelto (STRATOVARIUS, CAIN’S OFFERING) and Netta Skoog (Ex-ENSIFERUM) teamed up again to play a series of acoustic concerts. I had seen them with Pekka Heino and Jani Liimatainen in Hämeenlinna back in 2019 and as soon as the gig was announced, I was determined to cover the show, as the show in Hämeenlinna had been one of the best acoustic shows I ever witnessed.
