Morrissey & Anna Calvi
As probably there won’t be many chances to see the exceptional musician MORRISSEY anymore because of his severe health problems and one of his shows happened to take place in my city, I decided that I had to be willing to pay a fortune for a ticket as the tickets at the usual ticket stores were sold out quickly. This concert took place at the Collosseum Essen. The venue with a capacity of 1,500 guests was comfortably seated.

Midge Ure & Pete Macleod
Already last autumn the co-founder and singer of ULTRAVOX proved with his acoustic performance that he is still not on the scrap heap. Surely most of the people associate MIDGE URE with ULTRAVOX and all their fantastic songs in the eighties. But for real he did a lot of other projects, started his solo career while being engaged with ULTRAVOX and wrote and composed for other musicians also. On this evening he was performing in the listed former coal mine in Essen with its post-industrial charm which is rebuild as cultural centre for all kind of events. A perfect venue for enjoying an intimate show of a stunning musician with a great voice.

L'Âme Immortelle, K-Bereit, Esoterik
After five years of silence, Thomas Rainer and Sonja Kraushofer are back on stage with L’ÂME IMMORTELLE. Just like they are announcing, it has been far too long after they released their previous album ‘Momente’ in 2011. But now they are back with a new album called ‘Drahtseilakt’ and a short tour through Germany, Russia, Switzerland and of course their home country Austria. The concert at the Matrix is the second in row and the official release of their album. L’ÂME IMMORTELLE will be supported by K-BEREIT from France and ESOTERIK from the U.S.

Omnia - Earth Warrior Tour
Based in the Netherlands, OMNIA describes its style as Neo-Celtic Pagan Folk so the band members play different kinds of instruments typical for folk and sing in English, Welsh, Breton, Latin, Hindi and some other languages. With a new album released in spring, they are stopping now in Germany to present it live after they had already played shows in i.e. Poland, USA and Mexico. Lots of people were heading to Bochum and the queue outside was long… and the venue packed and hot!

Synthwest with Sinestar, Kira & Low Tide Theory
Not long ago some friends of the Synth Pop/ Electronic music were discussing on the Facebook chat how amazing it would be if it was possible to have a Synth Pop event in the SouthWest of the UK, where local bands can perform in order to get more attention. Quickly a Facebook group was founded in order to spread the word and get connected. Despite a lot of unforeseen problems the founder of the SynthWest group made it to organise the first concert event with three fine electronic bands. Actually another venue was booked but the owner made a double booking so that the organisers had to find an alternative. But that meant also that they had to lower their sights referred to the venue itself as well as to the given technical equipment including the lights. The event took place in a separate room downstairs of a restaurant which looked quite cosy and surely is perfect for a family party with a bit of Karaoke but not for concerts. At least the size of the venue fitted well with a capacity of estimated 90 people as for the first event you cannot expect to be sold out.
