Bochum Total: Metallspürhunde, Xandria, Faun, Rotersand, Secret Discovery, Staubkind, Jesus on Extasy, In strict Confidence, Das Ich, Purwien, Escape with Romeo
The 22nd Bochum Total took place from 21st to 24th June under the motto “Celebrate the Countdown”. Besides 66 bands on four stages, the city festival also offered a lot of different food and drinks; but music was again the main issue. The very best thing with this festival is that you can see all the bands for free. Bochum Total is a festival that presents progressive and original music through all genres not only presenting big names but is also a platform for musical experiments. During the last years, bands like DONOTS, WIR SIND HELDEN, OOMPH!, APOPTYGMA BERZERK, MIA or DIE HAPPY were playing there. Further more the festival gives new bands from the region a chance to perform live in front of a big audience. Bochum Total is the biggest European music festival. During the last years the amount of visitors increased steadily, so there were counted between 650,000 and 850,000 visitors in the last 3 years each.

Rockhard Festival Day 3: Sabaton, Hardcore Superstar, Dew-Scented, Dark Funeral, Tankard, Paul Di Anno, Spock’s Beard, Axel Rudi Pell, Thin Lizzy
We wanted to get their early so we wouldn't miss SABATON, the first band, which the female side of things said she found to be quite entertaining. We got through painlessly, I got my coffee and we saw the band.

FIELDS OF ROCK DAY 2: Ozzy Osbourne, Hatebreed, Velvet Revolver, Dream Theater, Mötorhead, Suicidal Tendencies, Korn, Hinder, Life of Agony, Type O Negative, Ill Niño, Devildriver, Walls Of Jericho, Amon Amarth, Megadeth, Delain, Volbeat, Black Label Society
Day 2. After the run-around-Saturday I woke up this morning to little sunshine. As I crawled out of my tent and stumbled towards the bathing area, I noticed the festival was a lot busier already then yesterday. This also really showed when everybody wanted to get onto the festival area at 12. It was busy like hell. I’ve heard people actually missed the first bands because of this.

This year, festival season is starting for me with Fields of Rock. 2 days of festival. Leaving on Friday and I will be back on Monday. This means I have to pack. I ran around the house several times, packing and unpacking again, trying not to forget my toothbrush and in the end forgetting my toothpaste. You know, festivals are fun. Trying to fit everything up to the kitchen sink in your backpack and hoping that it won’t rain. and then there are the bands...
