The Birthday Massacre, The Love Crave
Maybe it wasn’t a good idea planning a concert of The Birthday Massacre just three days before they should play at the M’era Luna Festival. The band played also at the Dark Dance Treffen nearly three weeks ago. So we thought this was going to be a small concert in a little club. We were right. The concert room was only about half filled.

Fabrikc, Soman, Combichrist, Welle:Erdball, Grendel, Moonspell, Absurd Minds, The Wounded, Reaper, Prey
The third day of Summer Darkness. Today the market at the Domchurch was open, it was bigger than the years before because the Elf Fantasy had a hand in it this year. People were getting a bit tired it seemed, at least those who had been partying for two nights already. There were a lot of fresh people today though, especially for Prey, The Wounded and Moonspell. Separate tickets were sold, and they were in for quite a treat.

Frontline Assembly, XPQ-21, Schattenschlag, Stromkern, Seaculum, Dead Cell, Inertia, XmH, XP8, Transworld, Gail of God
The fourth and final day. Only two venues this day and not that many famous bands but there was enough to see and hear. Cyber at Tivoli and some metal at the Ekko. Take your pick or enjoy both. Today was also the special Gothic Lolita event. A new style in clothing from Japan where girls (and some men as well) dress up as Victorian dolls.

Time for the second year of Castle Fest! Improvements have been made and anticipation is high. Until two in the morning the night before the big day, people were working to get everything done. In the mean time people at home had their home made outfits, their make-up and bag for the day laying ready besides their beds. Some had been working for quite some time to get their outfit ready for this festival. Besides the music it was great fun to watch all these wonderful creations all day. If you had heard enough music you could go shopping, take part in a workshop, learn how to play games or fight a LARP fight. In the food and drink department there was something for everyone. Some food and drinks were served in genuine Castle Fest earthenware. Besides all of this there was one thing which made this festival so special, the atmosphere. This is probably the most friendly and cosy festival in the Netherlands, with a true hippy mentality.
