Nightwish, Marilyn Manson, Apocalyptica
It's Friday afternoon when we get in the car to drive off towards the warm south to pick up a friend and drive on to the Belgian music festival Pukkelpop which is celibrating it's 20th aniversary. Unfortunatelly we'd only been invited for the Friday so we had to skip quite a few interesting bands. Due to another appointment that day we had to miss Bad religion but at least we were able to review three nice bands again.

Day 3: Syrian, Morning, Unter Null, Autumn, Crüxshadows, Asrai, Glis, Therion
The last day of this three day lgothic lifestyle event starts off for us with bands in Ekko, a small venue on the western side of the town's center, where the metal bands take their time to perform. At Tivoli de Helling, the side venue of the main Tivoli building the fans start entering the building for the cyber bands of this day. The weather seems nice when we start his day, a nice start after all the rain of the last few days. Finally all the make-up won't wash off all the time when moving to another venue.

“Sun makes you foolish” was written on some shirts at the M´era Luna weekend in Hildesheim. About 21,000 visitors could not mourn about too much sun this year. Unfortunately it was much too wet on the Sunday and so the festival area as well as the parking lot turned into mud. Musically and visually there was a lot to explore. So you could listen to bands of all the different genres of dark music. Especially Skinny Puppy were polarising the audience with their provoking show and so mostly the old fans were excited about it. Of course there were not only the big names playing but also some newcomers like Gate or Negative. The final of the festival was presented by the Goth heroes Sisters of Mercy. Once again it was a very peaceful festival. [DV] www.meraluna.de

The day after the night before turned Utrecht black again. The organisation had organised a Gothic picnic in a local park, there was a metal market at the Dom square and where ever you looked people in dark coloured clothes walked around. Metal enthusiasts started their day at the Ekko while the cybergoth kicked off in de Helling.
