'Excessive Exposure' is the fourth full-length album of NOISUF-X, the sole creation of Jan L, also known for his Aggro-tech / EBM project X-FUSION. NOISUF -X could be perhaps best described as techno body music, as it relies heavily on both on edgy techno sounds and punching EBM rhythms to produce clubber favourites such as 'Hit Me Hard' from 2007's successful album 'The Beauty of Destruction'.
Like its predecessors, 'Excessive Exposure' features a harsh, distorted soundscape that flirts with rhythmic noise. Even though individual tracks are deliberately monotonous, the album manages to avoid numbing repetitiveness unlike many of its rivals; it definitely has more variation and inventive usage of elements than the most in the genre. 'Please Hang Up' compiles mobile sounds into music and, riding the wave of the retro boom, 'Fire [c64 Tribute]' is a homage for the now legendary Commodore 64 - the system with which Jan L reportedly began making music in the late 80's. On the other hand, dirty words spoken by robotic female voice in 'Fucking Invective' is something that definitely has been done before.
As can be expected of NOISUF -X, 'Excessive Exposure' includes plenty of full-on, stomping tracks such as harsh and sinister 'I Am Watching You', catchy 'Beatz & Bass' and 'Deutschland braucht Bewegung' which, indeed, is guaranteed to get the dance floor on the move not only in Germany but world-wide. Overall, the album is a well-produced piece that will surely find its way on the DJ's cases.
