Theaterhaus, Stuttgart, Germany
14th December 2011
Subway to Sally, Megaherz
On the second part of their “Schwarz in Schwarz” tour, SUBWAY TO SALLY came also to Stuttgart. The concert took place on 14th of December 2011. In this day, real April weather ruled and so, we were washed this evening by nothing but rain, before we finally entered the Theaterhaus…
Megaherz
MEGAHERZ is a Neue Deutsche Härte band which was founded in Munich in 1993. Among others, they are influenced by bands like RAMMSTEIN, NINE INCH NAILS, NIRVANA or also RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE. In the past, there were many changes in the line-up. In 2003, e.g., co-founder and singer Alexander 'Alexx' Wesselsky left together with guitarist Noel Pix to found their new band EISBRECHER. Now since 2007, Alexander 'Lex' Wohnhaas is the new singer of MEGAHERZ. The newest band member is guitarist Christoph 'Chris' Klinke who substituted this year Roland Vencelj. Their last album 'Heuchler' was released in 2008. www.megaherz.de
Music & Performance
Already at 7:50 PM, singer Alexander 'Lex' Wohnhaas, guitarists Christian 'X-ti' Bystron and Christoph 'Chris' Klinke, bassist Werner 'Wenz' Weninger and drummer Jürgen 'Bam Bam' Wiehler appeared on the stage. The mood at the Theaterhaus was very well from the beginning and the hall already was pretty well filled at this time. MEGAHERZ offered a diverse mixture of songs of all albums, as for example 'Beiss Mich, 'Heuchler', 'Kopfschuss', 'Gott Sein' and with 'Jagdzeit' also a preview of the new album of the same name which will be released on 20th of January 2012. The only drop of bitterness of their presentation was that Lex could not be understood very well what could have been caused, however, also by the microphone itself. After a brief hour they left stage accompanied by considerable applause.

Subway to Sally
SUBWAY TO SALLY is a German Middle Ages rock band which was founded in 1992. In the course of time, influences of folk and Metal were added and the traditional instruments moved more and more into the background. Also linguistically, the band changed: While primarily English at the beginning was the main language, Latin and Gaelic texts came later and in the meantime there are exclusively German lyrics. This year, they released their latest album 'Schwarz in Schwarz' which should be “a declaration of love to the black scene” according to guitarist Bodenski. www.subwaytosally.com
Music & Performance
After a really short rebuilding break, singer Eric Fish, Bodenski (Michael Boden / hurdy-gurdy, acoustic guitar), Simon (Simon Levko / acoustic-guitar), Ingo Hampf (E guitar), Mrs. Schmitt (Silke Volland / violin), Sugar Ray (Silvio Runge / bass) and drummer Simon Michael (Simon Michael Schmitt) appeared on the dark stage. During a large part of the concert, nearly 1,200 people in the not completely sold-out Theaterhaus could enjoy a diverse, ingenious Pyroshow before, on and in the background of the stage, of course besides the presented songs.
However, also the show of SUBWAY TO SALLY was rather diverse. With songs as for example 'Kämpfen Wir!', 'Schlagt Die Glocken' or also 'Wo Rosen Blüh'n', they enough songs from the new album. However, they did also not forget the older songs like 'Mephisto' or 'Julia Und Die Räuber'. Also Eric Fish was obviously in a good mood, just as Lex Wohnhaas of MEGAHERZ he start to a round of crowd surfing what some fans immediately copied. Later there was still a playfully dancing round in spiral form, before it was time to say goodbye after some additions.

Too fast, this nice and exceedingly successful concert evening came to an end. Who has liked it as well, like me, shouldn't miss the MEGAHERZ tour in the beginning of 2012!
