Owls 'n' Bats Festival 2016 with Saigon Blue Rain, Then Comes Silence, Black Nail Cabaret, Escape with Romeo, Clan of Xymox
After missing the debut of the Owls 'n' Bats festival back in 2014 and being kept from attending last year when almighty THE BEAUTY OF GEMINA were headlining, there's absolutely nothing that can keep me away from joining in the black festivity at the Grotenburg, a forested hill in the Teutoburger Forest, this time. The Goth spectacle in the woods close to the legendary Hermann Monument is sounding the bell for the third round and I'm on a delayed bus creeping up the hill. Get going, dear bus driver!

RockHarz Festival Day 1: Impressions & AFM Label Night with Mors Principium Est, Shakra, Kissin' Dynamite, J.B.O., Onslaught
Hard to say if the first day of RockHarz is really a full festival day. The ground is blocked more or less in the middle, only one stage is open and most of the merchants are closed. It seems, that this day is more a preparation day for the three upcoming days with full entertainment on both stages and giving the people some more time to settle down on the camping ground. The first night was organized by AFM Records and was called the AFM Label Night. AFM stands for “Allendörfer Fischer Musik”, the focus of the label is on the heavy metal music genre. This year they celebrate their 20th anniversary. AFM organized six bands for the evening, with KISSIN’ DYNAMITE and J.B.O. two bands announcing new albums.

Filter & Rabia Sorda
With the new album ‘Crazy Eyes’ in their bag, the US American band FILTER performed as one of the headliners on the “Make Europe great again” alongside with COMBICHRIST, LORD OF THE LOST and RABIA SORDA in Europe. Though these bands performed together in my area I decided not to attend on that evening for some reasons. Thus I was very glad that FILTER had another date and this time even closer to my hometown. The supporting act was a big secret and only at the venue just shortly before the show announced. Unfortunately the show was not sold out.

2nd July 2016
Cyndi Lauper & Neil Thomas
Finally I had the chance to see the Pop icon of the 80’s live who is now touring with her new album ‘Detour‘. And I was really thrilled to find out about her live singing qualities, especially the old songs. Due to the soccer game on that evening the show was not sold out, respectively I heard that many people sold their tickets on short notice in order to watch soccer on TV.
