Rock im Revier Day 3: The New Black, Suicidal Tendencies, Gojira, Anthrax, Apocalyptica, In Extremo, Slayer, Nightwish
The final festival day ranged from the brutal, over the medieval, to the symphonic presenting THE NEW BLACK, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, GOJIRA, ANTHRAX, APOCALYPTICA, IN EXTREMO, SLAYER, and NIGHTWISH. Such a mixed bag line-up allowed the indeed quite diverse Rock im Revier crowd to rock out with their favourite bands celebrating either trashy or more melodic tunes, or both.

Teho Teardo & Blixa Bargeld – Nerissimo Tour
Blixa Bargeld (57) is to most of us a living legend born in the underground Berlin music scene and part of the Dadaist movement. However, due to his low profile and experimental sprit, he isn’t so well known to everyone. His stage name "Blixa" stands for a German brand of blue felt pen, and “Bargeld” for the German word for "cash". He is best known for his amazing live performances and recordings with the bands EINSTÜRZENDE NEUBAUTEN ("Collapsing New Buildings") from 1980 till present and NICK CAVE AND THE BAD SEEDS (1983-2003). His art is an evolving work in progress registered in over 35 studio albums (solo + bands + collaborations).

FortaRock Day 1: Within Temptation, Gojira, Tremonti, Avatar, Legion of the Damned, Heidevolk, Evra, Hibakusha
The 8th edition of “the heaviest day in the park” is back with an extended program over two days. Though the headliners of this year don’t match the “greatness” of previous FortaRock editions (IRON MAIDEN, RAMMSTEIN, SLIPKNOT), the line-up is a proper mix of different styles from Rock to Black Metal and Metalcore to Viking Metal. The ominous weather forecasts were probably followed with great interest last week but fortunately the thunder storms that hit Rock Am Ring so badly passed us by: the sun is shining and the beer is cold as the Goffertpark slowly starts to fill with an audience dressed for the occasion not the weather: black fashion!

Wave Gotik Treffen 2016 (Day 4): Harpyie, Kyoll, Eric Fish, Christine Plays Viola, Lament, And Also The Trees, Machinista, One I Cinema, Exhibition “Leipzig in black – 25 years Wave-Gotik-Treffen”, Neuroticfish, Velvet Acid Christ, Aesthetic Perfection, Coppelius, Saeldes Sanc & Ernst Horn
Choices, choices, choices. As in life, the WGT is all about choices. Where to go, what to do. Five days seem a lot of time, yet everything takes place at the same time. Most people let themselves drift here and there and enjoy the moment. This is the true spirit of the WGT.
