Edward Krimm (lead vocal, piano, keyboards), Jaagup Tormis (drums, backing vocals), Valdur Viiklepp (bass, backing vocals), Kaur Garšnek (guitars) from The Princes
The most promising new band from Estonia, progressive rock band THE PRINCES, just a few months from the release of their debut album ‘Stars’, climbed to the same stage as legendary QUEEN on the 5th of June at Tallinn Lauluväljak! It can't get closer to the stars than that - except to become one themselves! Edward Krimm with his special charisma shines on the stage. THE PRINCES is definitely one of the bands whose live performance should be seen!

Mick Moss from Antimatter
After the release of the sixth studio album and the eponymous tour that followed, we found that it was about time to talk with mastermind Mick Moss about the album, the feedback he experienced on tour and his side project. He kindly took his time to answer the questions I sent him per email.

Jyrki 69 (lead vocals) from The 69 Eyes
Without a shadow of a doubt, all THE 69 EYES disciples will be thrilled by the Helsinki Vampires' long-awaited and new offering once they hear it. On April 22, ‘Universal Monsters’ will finally be unleashed on the world presenting eleven killer Goth'n'Roll songs. The dark rockers from Finland are back – in top form and, as always, with an edge. In fact, they've actually never been gone and never will be, for one way to read the album's title is that Jyrki 69 (vocals), Bazie (lead guitar), Timo-Timo (guitar), Archzie (bass), and Jussi 69 (drums) are timeless creatures themselves, iconic as the monsters of the classic horror movies, being around and enfolding us in their melodic duskiness or rocking our socks off for already over a quarter of a century. Vampire and vocalist Mr Jyrki 69 has a busy schedule, but he kindly took the time to talk to Reflections of Darkness in detail about the band, the fans, music, and the world.

Perttu Kivilaakso (Apocalyptica) about the opera “Indigo”, written by Perttu Kivilaakso and Eicca Toppinen
Having seeing the “Indigo” opera, a sold-out and enormous production by Finnish National Opera and two members of APOCALYPTICA, I was enthusiastic to reach to the author for an interview. As the places for interviews are not always fancy backstage apartments or rich hotel premises, our interview place is pretty casual - next to Ooppera’s box office, in some quiet corner. A little quite at the beginning, Perttu quickly gets engaged into details and speaks about his brainchild with big enthusiasm; and last but not least, I thank myself for seeing the opera first, as I am able avoid basic questions and ask for specific details. The interview took place on February 13th, 2016. The opera can be watched online throughout 2016 HERE!

Fenne Kuppens (vocals), Sander Hermans (synths) and Sander Pelsmaekers (drums) from Whispering Sons
One of the most promising bands in Europe in the Post Punk genre is clearly WHISPERING SONS. This quintet hails from a small town in Belgium called Houthalen/ Helchteren and their EP ‘Endless Party’ is a masterpiece. They describe their own music as “Belgian post-punk breathing dark and atmospheric sounds”, with a touch of Shoegaze. The singularity of the band comes mainly from the low, dark voice of their (female) singer, Fenne Kuppens, which evokes NICO, LEBANON HANOVER and MRS ARAFNA (NOVEMBER NÖVELET). Our journalist Phil Blackmarquis caught up with the band in Brussels.
