As newcomer of the year Lyronian was booked exclusively as the first newcomer band at the 19 Wave Gothic meeting in Leipzig. Prior to this, in the autumn of 2009, Lyronian had caused a great sensation with its debut album in the relevant press landscape. The positive reviews descended on then like warm rainfall and “Side Scan” stayed in the German Alternative Chart for several weeks.

Hurts
Sometimes it just takes a little tune like ‘Wonderful Life’ to put a duo, in this case Theo Hutchcraft & Adam Anders aka HURTS, into the spotlights of everyone and making them famous. But some might ask themselves, righteously, if there’s any substance at all behind the hype. The answer can only be a big Yes, there is, for not only the hit single let synth fans’ hears leap with joy and their eyes sparkle, also the recently released album ‘Happiness’ met with the expectations and set the bars extremely high for everyone else.

Solitary Experiments, f.o.d
When the worlds Dennis Schober and Michael Thieleman collided one day, they found out they were like-minded and made their first musical experiences under the name PLAGUE, before they decided to form the project SOLITARY EXPERIMENTS in 1994. By doing that, they were making the foundation for what was to become a successful story in the genre of electronic music, even though the way to getting that status was full of many stones. With every new album, they could enlist a bigger audience and a loyal fan base grew from that.

Besides SKINNY PUPPY, Bill Leeb’s FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY is deemed one of the main guarantors for innovative electronic music made in Canada. However, the last album ‘Artificial Soldier’ didn’t meet with entirely positive critics from fans. The next album and collaborative band effort ‘Improvised Electronic Device’ was promised to be one of the strongest releases of FLA and it turned out that every word was true. The album came like a bombshell and received overly positive reception all over the place.
