Paganfest: Arkona, Varg, Dornenreich, Eluveitie, Finntroll
Few minutes before six o’clock I arrived in front of the Batschkapp, where not as many people waited as I had expected. Due to an enormous traffic jam, Marco, who would be taking pictures during this evening, was late and had to miss the first band. Somehow, the concert manager had messed some things up with our accreditation, but we were given entrance anyway. The doors opened rather on schedule and so, many attendees secured themselves places in the very front. For myself, I decided in favour of a seating place with a nice overview of the venue and the stage. Punctually (this word would dominate throughout the whole evening) the first band entered the scene, at that time the Batschkapp was already decently filled.

Holly Loose & Benni Cellini & Karl Halbig: “Das weiße Buch des Jadefalken”Now after my reading with Johannes Steck and CORVUS CORAX’ ‘Die Zwerge’, I visited again a musical reading in Munich, this time of Holly Loose who is known most probably as singer and front man of the Dresden based Folk-Rock band LETZTE INSTANZ. And indeed, he still has other talents: Alongside he is also active as an author! His newest work, the novel "Das weisse Buch des Jadefalken", appeared on the 1st December 2009. On account of that, Holly Loose started to a reader's tour, accompanied by Benni Cellini (e-cello) who also plays in the band LETZTE INSTANZ and Karl Helbig (saxophone) who forms the project LANDÜBER together with Benni Cellini. www.myspace.com/hollyloose

Katatonia, Swallow the Sun, Long Distance Calling
It's always that when you need the German Railways that they have a habit of failing you. Like this time when I entered the platform and saw my train would have a good 20 minutes delay. Exceptionally and to my delight they made up a few minutes while we're headed to Cologne where KATATONIA would stop for a "little" guest play at the Luxor club, so I still made it in time before the doors opened.

Emilie Autumn
Ready from the tender age of 4 years, she‘s been trained to be concert violinist, composer and musical historian and at the age of 18, she already parted ways with her first label and released her violin debut ‘On a day…’ under the moniker of Traitor Records, the label she’s running to the present day. These can only be some little key points within the extraordinary and iridescent career of the creative individual that operates under the alias EMILIE AUTUMN. Her music and the prose she’s recorded until now breathe a special air, driven by the passion and devotion she’s putting into all she does, a spirit that hasn’t gotten an ounce weaker through all the time. Her newest release is a special re-issue of the album 'Opheliac', released on 12th February. http://www.emilieautumn.com/ / http://www.myspace.com/emilieautumn

Nitzer Ebb & Psyche
While on tour with DEPECHE MODE, Douglas McCarthy, Bon Harris and Jason Payne aka NITZER EBB also played a couple of headliner shows between the dates with their ex-label mates. The Matrix Bochum was one of these stops.
6:30 p.m. in Bochum, backstage at the Matrix. Douglas McCarthy sits in a corner with his laptop being busy posting on Facebook. In another corner, Jason Payne enjoys a meal, while Bon Harris takes care of his inflamed and swollen eye by placing a tea-bag on it. Darrin Huss, head of tonight’s support act PSYCHE, checks his wardrobe and welcomes a few old friends while tour manager Peddy Sadighi is busy making negotiations on the phone. All is quiet at NITZER EBB’s backstage room, but it’s just the silence before the storm…
