In Strict Confidence & Diorama
The end of the fabulous D-Day IV in Reutlingen marked by some rare acoustic encores on piano meant a starving time for two weeks until the next event with IN STRICT CONFIDENCE & DIORAMA was going to happen at Zeche Carl, and of course we were there.

Project Pitchfork, Tamtrum, Solitary Experiments, Altera Forma
On 27th of March, all lovers of electronic music got an opportunity to see four different formations on one stage presenting the programs interesting enough to please even the most sophisticated audience. Unfortunately, at the beginning the quantity of people inside was dreadfully small but then the crowd in the venue was gradually getting bigger nevertheless the musicians got rather warm welcome.

Enochian Theory, Kataleptic, Dakesis; Island Three
For any “Brummies” who've never attended a gig at the Old Wharf, you're missing something pretty unique, for this is not some recent wannabe plastic pub; this is a dyed in the wool authentic musician’s haunt where the very best in emerging and more established bands of all sorts of alternative genres come to ply their wares. It's small, really small, but you'll get a huge welcome, cheaply priced drinks and even an open fire in the yard at the back while you listen to a plethora of local and not so local talent whilst at the same time having the chance to take in the great wall art. I was there primarily to have a look at the much lauded and applauded ENOCHIAN THEORY, but before they ever got near to the stage there were no less than three support bands to enjoy.

DAF & No More
The Deutsch-Amerikanische Freundschaft haunted German grounds again. The only show in North-Rhine-Westphalia in the course of that was to take place at the event castle Pulp in Duisburg this time. It was still quite empty when I arrived at the venue and for the time being it wouldn't become what you'd call packed.

In Extremo
It's a great thing when a really successful band decides that they won't just work to the winning formula they already have but will stretch the creative envelope to encompass something much more basic, much more creative and ultimately much braver. Considering their near biblical success with the number one album 'Sängerkrieg', one could have been forgiven for assuming that they'd lay back on their laurels basking in their success. Ah, but far from it. Shortly after they produced the acoustic version of the album and then made the decision to take a wholly acoustic tour. This is bravery verging on madness, which is why not a lot of bands undertake something like this. Acoustic is raw, naked and unforgiving, and you really have to be ahead of your game to pull it off, which they did; in abundance.
