Die Art
German band DIE ART was founded in 1986 and is the follow-up to DIE ZUCHT which had a rather short-lived existence with two years in total. The band quickly caught the attention of a bigger audience and having their song ‘Chrome’ played on the radio might have helped their popularity grow as well. After the German Unification the band has released their debut full-length ‘Fear’ which remains to be the most successful album of DIE ART up until now. After a concert in Leipzig’s Moritzbastei in 2001 the band disbanded and left a back catalogue of nine album, various tapes and singles.

NACHTMAHR and support: Alter der Ruine & XUberX
Despite being an odd night of the week (a Thursday) and at a venue no generally known for hosting electro-industrial concerts of any sort (DC9), NACHTMAHR's debut performance in the nation's capitol went off with quite a respectable number of people. For those unfamiliar with this Austrian outfit, it is perhaps best known as the solo project of L'ÂME IMMORTELLE's front man, Thomas Rainer.

European Massacre: Kataklysm, Belphegor, Darkest Hour, Suicidal Angels, Resistance
At a few minutes past five o’clock, Katrin and me arrived in front of the Batschkapp. The doors were meant to open at six o’clock, but due to the fact that today would be the first day of the whole tour, everything went rather slow and a nice guy from the crew informed us that, even though we were freezing, the entry would be postponed for another twenty minutes.

Christmas Ball: Front 242, Covenant, Welle:Erdball, Suicide Commando, Destroid
The Christmas Ball in Hannover has already some tradition, 2009 was the first time that the agency Protain made a little tour of this event with additional dates in Cologne and Wurzburg. We were at the Hannover show which had FRONT 242 as an extra on the bill. No surprise that the show was completely sold out as the two headliners sold out the Hannover Capitol alone in the past.
