Emilie Autumn
Ready from the tender age of 4 years, she‘s been trained to be concert violinist, composer and musical historian and at the age of 18, she already parted ways with her first label and released her violin debut ‘On a day…’ under the moniker of Traitor Records, the label she’s running to the present day. These can only be some little key points within the extraordinary and iridescent career of the creative individual that operates under the alias EMILIE AUTUMN. Her music and the prose she’s recorded until now breathe a special air, driven by the passion and devotion she’s putting into all she does, a spirit that hasn’t gotten an ounce weaker through all the time. Her newest release is a special re-issue of the album 'Opheliac', released on 12th February. http://www.emilieautumn.com/ / http://www.myspace.com/emilieautumn

Nitzer Ebb & Psyche
While on tour with DEPECHE MODE, Douglas McCarthy, Bon Harris and Jason Payne aka NITZER EBB also played a couple of headliner shows between the dates with their ex-label mates. The Matrix Bochum was one of these stops.
6:30 p.m. in Bochum, backstage at the Matrix. Douglas McCarthy sits in a corner with his laptop being busy posting on Facebook. In another corner, Jason Payne enjoys a meal, while Bon Harris takes care of his inflamed and swollen eye by placing a tea-bag on it. Darrin Huss, head of tonight’s support act PSYCHE, checks his wardrobe and welcomes a few old friends while tour manager Peddy Sadighi is busy making negotiations on the phone. All is quiet at NITZER EBB’s backstage room, but it’s just the silence before the storm…

Mesh, Assemblage 23, Tenek
On Saturday, the weather wasn’t too pleasant and while we were standing in a queue that was gradually getting longer, we as everyone else there started to look a bit like snowmen and couldn’t wait to come into the venue to get warm at last. It goes without saying that the event started later then it was announced and that’s why we managed to be in time for the first performance of the evening.

Fear Factory, After All
‘Mechanize’, the first FEAR FACTORY record after the who-plays-with-whom-argy-bargy, is anything than bad, but surely no highlight either. Eons have passed since I saw them last time performing live, so the current tour offered the perfect chance to see, what FEAR FACTORY is still about, how the new line-up works together and if the old strengths are still convincing.

Sadly, the initial show of PARADISE LOST planned to take place in Dortmund had to be cancelled for known reasons. But finally the date of the re-scheduled show had arrived and I was very excited travelling to Cologne this time. I was expecting nothing less than a blast.
