Hultsfred Festival 2009: Day 1 - Ozomatli, Dropkick Murphys, Gossip, The Weakening, Twiggy Frostbite, Kings of Leon; Day 2 - Regina Spektor, Sonic Syndicate, The Killers, Takida; Day 3 - Lowood, Lenka, Dead by April; Day 4 - The Vanjas, Nashville Pussy, Olafur Arnolds
The organization that makes the festival happen - Rockparty - has done some changes regarding this year’s festival; they have changed the month of the festival from June to July and added one more day so now the Hultsfred festival is a 4 day / night festival. Sad but true that this was the last ever Hultsfred festival!

Amphi Festival 2009 Day 1 Main Stage: Fields of the Nephilim, Covenant, Leaether Strip, Eisbrecher, The Birthday Massacre, Solar Fake, Mantus, Coppelius
The first jubilee is over and it could not have been more exciting. Who would have expected FEINDFLUG to literally play the plaster from the Rheinparkhalle’s ceiling! Fortunately no one got hurt when that 2m² sized part fell on the stage and did burst into tiny bits. Still the facility manager of the Rheinparkhalle had to close the venue for security matters… but more about that in our Indoor-Stage report. The main stage on this first festival day had a great program to offer with Goth heroes FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM headlining the stage. Furthermore you got, among others, electro heroes COVENANT and LEÆTHER STRIP.

Backstage Open 2009 Day 1: Hassliebe, Benzin, The New Black, Tito & Tarantula
This year, the “Backstage Open” took place once more. Actually, it should become an open air festival, but the repeatedly bad weather arranged the organizer to move into the Backstage Werk. Because the bands could play longer indoors, the beginning times also got rid conformist and it started on the first day at 7:30 PM.

The second festival day started quite early already at 11 in the morning. No rain or bigger clouds in sight today and very soon we felt like roasted chicken on a grill and those who did not take care also looked very red and burned. Medical care had quite some work with collapsed people. Luckily the security took care for one or another cold shower. But now to the important things, the music…
