On June 11th the Folkfield Festival 2022 took place for the first time in the Amphitheater Gelsenkirchen to celebrate the new album release ‘Knüppel aus dem Sack’ by SCHANDMAUL. Sinner’s Day Summer 2022 Day 3 with Wegsfeer, Dive, Red Zebra, Nosferatu and The Stranglers
The final day once again offered a great and mixed line-up. Sadly, we missed parts of it like STABBING WESTWARD, MERCIFUL NUNS or AESTHETIC PERFECTION, since we had to drive back home already at early evening. Work was calling early Monday morning. Anyway, we were happy to see at least a handful of bands. And the weather was on our side as well… sunny, warm and not too hot. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon.

Sinner’s Day Summer 2022 Day 2 with Kalte Nacht, Der Klinke, Ist Ist, Disorientations, Boytronic, Talk To Her, Diary Of Dreams, Nitzer Ebb, PiL (Public Image Ltd) and VNV Nation
After a short night, a long day was ahead with bands starting already at 12 noon. So far, the weather looked nice, but the forecast was not so promising. I just had to think of DIARY OF DREAMS, who had bad experiences with rain at Sinner’s Day last autumn and I hoped anything would turn out better for them today. We arrived at the area 20 minutes before the first band would start to play, just walked around at the area, greeted some friends and then got ready for the music to come.

Sinner’s Day Summer 2022 Day 1 with Atmospehere, Algiers, Torul, Forced To Mode, W. H. Lung, IAMX (Machinate), The Mission and Echo & The Bunnymen
Sinner’s Day as an indoor festival has quite some years of tradition already, in various locations though. Last year, there was a special one-day summer edition taking place for the first time, just the day before W-Fest, in August 2021. This year, the summer edition of Sinner’s Day was extended to a full three-day festival taking place at the Maria-Hendrikapark in Oostende, Belgium. The line-up offered old heroes and newcomers, Wave legends and hard-hitting electronic music. Something for anyone.
