Elektrisch! Festival: Mechanical Cabaret, Purwien, X-perience, Mesh
On 9th February, MAJOR RECORDS and RE-FLEXION will release the interesting compilation ELEKTRISCH! 2. The release will include 28 tracks from various bands of the international electro scene. Involved are famous bands like Erasure, Camouflage, Client, Mesh and more. Collateral to the upcoming release a club tour took place with X-PERIENCE, MESH, MECHANICAL CABARET and PURWIEN. During this ELEKTRISCH CLUB TOUR on 27th January we went to KREFELD - the last gig on this tour because the primary last gig in HANNOVER has been cancelled by the local presenter. The fans in DRESDEN were also disappointed due the bad weather - a lot of snow blocked the streets and the band had a tight schedule, so unfortunately the show in DRESDEN had to be cancelled as well. The evening in Krefeld should be a special event, because Mesh wanted to record their performance for a Live DVD.

A year after their first ever concert in Eindhoven the band had returned to the Netherlands to the venue where they'd recored their dvd. A mixed crowd of people who on the whole were quite a bit older than at concerts of other gothic metal related bands filled up the nice venue in Rijssen.

Stream of Passion featuring Ayreon
Less than one year after their first tour, Stream of Passion were coming back to Biebob, for the third gig of a short tour of seven concerts in Northern Europe. The multinational Stream of Passion with increasing international recognition is a gothic metal band formed in 2005 by the Dutch multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Arjen Anthony Lucassen following a rock opera project named Ayreon comprising seven albums produced between 1995 and 2004. With Ayreon, Arjen Lucassen, after having played as guitarist for various bands since 1980, wanted to make music the way he has always wanted or dreamed about, without any constraint. The result is a collection of experimental music with various styles mixing various prog, pop and rock influences in a very subtle way.

Dark Dance Treffen 20: Scary Bitches, Welle:Erdball, Die Krupps
The 20th Dark Dance Treffen was a special one because they celebrated their 6th anniversary. Therefore they planned something more than just a concert evening. The photographer and artist Timo Denz of “Hexistenz” (http://www.hexistenz.de) showed his new book and pictures for the first time. The café was decorated with his photos and his books could be bought at a special stall.

Messe Congresscentrum B, Stuttgart, Germany

Bullet for my Valentine, As I Lay Dying, Protest the Hero
The Welsh Metal-core band BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE has become quite famous during the last few years; their videos promoting songs like "Your Tears Don't Fall" and "All These Things I Hate (Revolve Around Me)" were played time and again on music channels like MTV, their album "The Poison"(2005, re-issued in 2006) had relatively high chart positions especially in the UK and you will hardly find a teenager with darker and more alternative music taste who doesn't know them. Or, concerning the girls, at least know their good-looking singer Matt Tuck. So it was no surprise that the band's concert, which was originally planned to take place in the LKA Longhorn, was relocated to a bigger venue, the Messe Congresscentrum B in Stuttgart, due to great demand for the tickets. The Congresscentrum B is part of the local exhibition centre in Stuttgart, and about 2500 people can be gathered there. When I arrived at the location, it was filled to about two thirds, but when taking a closer look, a great part of the visitors was pushing in the area right before the stage, awaiting their heroes. I just had a little time to look around, but then the first support act – PROTEST THE HERO – already entered the stage.
