Epica and Nemesea
Walking up to the beautifully painted Doornroosje I saw there was a very long row outside, it seemed this was going to be quite a crowded concert but all in all there was room for everyone. Inside there was an intimate and nice atmosphere, many were meeting friends and familiar faces from former concerts. Temperature was rising quickly. And fans were screaming to hear their favourite bands. Then finally at nine it was time…

The Dillinger Escape Plan and Textures
Just one day after Paaspop The Dillinger Escape Plan and Textures were on the road again, this time to Utrecht, Tivoli. In a warm venue with better lights and more fans in the audience they performed and brought the audience quite an impressive show.

Orphaned Land
With their album Mabool, Orphaned Land has managed to do what no other band from their home country has managed to do before: put Israel on the map of metal lovers. The release of their third full lenght album “Mabool” through Century Media saw them getting some of the best press the world over, I have ever seen for a metal record.

Dead Can Dance
The 12th of march was the big night, the Dead Can Dance gig in the Hague.I had been looking forward to it for such a long time- like others with me, I am sure. This concert was such a happening, because the last time Dead Can Dance toured, it was 1996 and they split up in 1998, so I never had thought there would be a chance to see them perform. Tickets were being sold through the internet for over 250 euros a piece, because the concert had sold out quickly and a lot of people did not know about it being staged due to the lack of publicity given to it on forehand. So it was with the lucky few that I spent that special night.

Deine Lakaien
Deine Lakaien are an exceptional appearance in Germany's music landscape. Their music, which tastefully and self-assuredly balances between classic, folk, techno, rock, industrial, goth, wave and ambient soundscapes, does not follow any current trends and is not oriented on any commercial guidelines whatsoever. And yet, the charismatic vocalist Alexander Veljanov and the classically trained composer, pianist and drummer Ernst Horn together experience a huge success with their concept of ignoring the borders set by genres and cultures. Three years after their last release "White Lies", the duet is now ready to open a fascinating new chapter in their career, with their eighth studio album, "April Skies", which also celebrates the artists' start with Capitol.
