Rotersand, Client and Covenant
When we enter P60, the first thing we receive is and inquiry about the venue. Because we, and with us a lot of people, have never been there since they do not regularly book bands as Covenant, it’s kind of strange to make us fill in the form. But since we get a free drink for it, we simply make up some answers. Not exactly the way you’d want your market research done, I guess?
P60 is a typical concert venue: large, dark rooms with an industrial look to them. The room is filling up rather slowly at first, because of the spacious look it seems even more empty. Rotersand is to kick off, luckily for them the audience moves to the stage so the usual gap between the first band and the audience isn’t present today. To me it was surprising that Rotersand was to play first, they definitely play louder and more danceable music than Client. Before and after their show I heard others in the audience wonder about this as well.

Dark Reign, Cutting Daisy, Tribal Spirits, Dark Lightning
As a Dark Music webzine we know that all the big names attract many readers but we'd like to use this to also point some attention to the future of the music scene as well as the many bands which consist of mainly good friends who have no other goal than to rock a few small venues full of friends and their friends. Some more ambitious bands came together for the Metal Battle preliminary Round in Ermelo and we reviewed them.

Stream of Passion & Damian Wilson
Finally the day was there… the first performance ever of Stream of Passion. Loving their album from the first time I listened to it, I was very excited to see this show. When arriving at the new Dynamo (which looks great by the way) there was already a long line in the hall waiting to give off their coats and descend the stairs and find a place in front of the stage. Excitement was buzzing through the venue.

The Bloodhound Gang, Rock Hard Power Spray, Montreal
After their last album more than five years ago, the band was touring excessively for two years with their also excessive live shows through the big venues of the world. After that they needed a break far away from publicity and then they started again recording a new album which was entitled “Hefty fine” and has been released last year. They came back for six German shows in November. But that wasn’t enough. Due to the huge demand they came to Germany again at the beginning of 2006. So we took our chance too to meet the band in Cologne for another big show in an even bigger venue than in November.

Epica & Auracle
The song ‘The Green Angel‘ from metal band Autumn is in my head when I walk to the venue. It is a typical cold winter night but inside the long queue with gothic people makes me forget my freezing hands. Tonight there is a special ‘battle’ between two gothic bands: one is already a big name, the other is here to prove that they can be a new Dutch talent: an interesting combination.
