Einstürzende Neubauten - “The Year Of The Rat” Tour 2022
In the early 80s, the EINSTÜRZENDE NEUBAUTEN shook and fascinated the world. With the concise voice of singer Blixa Bargeld and the rhythm-oriented music, the band shaped the music world and many other artists. Early on, the EINSTÜRZENDE NEUBAUTEN were the first artists to use unusual objects and noises to make music. https://neubauten.org / https://www.facebook.com/EinstuerzendeNeubauten

PiL & Brix Smith
I did not expect to be covering this show ladies and gentlemen, it was a last minute thing to email in press accreditation, I have plenty to be getting on with anyway so I didn’t expect any response at all. But a reply came, and quickly too in the affirmative. After reading through the conditions of the accreditation, downloading, printing and signing, I made my way to the venue and went through the usual rigmarole before being directed to where I needed to be.

She Past Away & Deathsomnia
At this beautiful and sunny summer evening, the Astra Kulturhaus was three quarters full. Although I had expected that SHE PAST AWAY, who have become one of the most important band projects in the Dark Wave and Post Punk subculture, would attract mainly members of said subculture, I was wrong. At least at the Astra, the audience consisted of members of the Gothic and Wave community, dressed in black, as well as of people wearing bright colours and even Hip-Hop fashion. Many were talking in English, some of them also in Turkish. Most of the audience was waiting visibly excited for SHE PAST AWAY, enjoying drinks and each other’s company outside the concert hall at the beer garden of the Astra.

Linea Aspera, Bracco
It seems that after two years of concert hiatus currently, we are experiencing a real outburst of all sorts of events - some new, some rescheduled from previous years - all the abundance results in the live events landscape that may make one choose between two or three events a day. The concerts organized in Akademia Club were like a perfect opening for the summer season - a combination of harsh punk lines and delicacy of ephemeral yet dynamic melodic lines. A great, energetic kick-off by French punk duo BRACCO, then a fiery set by BlackSunDreamer, and the grand finale by LINEA ASPERA. A fine sonic feast indeed.
