Interview with Jesse Short and Greh Holger from Pure Ground
PURE GROUND is a duo based in Los Angeles, consisting of Greh Holger (also boss of the Chondritic Sound label) and Jesse Short (also in Brotman & Short). They are one of the most promising acts for the moment as they have created a style of their own that you could describe as minimal / body / industrial / power electronic music. They have released two cassettes, two 7”, one VHS tape and one compilation vinyl LP. Reflections of Darkness caught up with them in Brussels, the day after the concert they held at the Fantastique Night. Michael Thiel, aka Weyrd Son (from Weyrd Son Records), who helped to organize the interview, was also present.

Interview with Christian Lindell (guitar) from Portrait
PORTRAIT is a classic metal band formed in 2006. Sometimes bordering on the occult considering the atmosphere they create with their infernal music this band is somewhat unique at the Moment. The band had just released a new record, ‘Crossroads’, in April 2014. That said it was quite clear there would be questions I had to ask them and luckily I did get the chance to do so…

Interview withMark Burgess (vocals) from The Chameleons Vox
Led by Mark Burgess, one of the most important singers / songwriters / poets in the history of rock (and one of my "heroes"), THE CHAMELEONS have marked the '80s by producing beautifully crafted psychedelic post-punk, for instance on the jewel albums ‘Script of The Bridge’ or ‘Strange Times’. Unfortunately, the band called it quits in 1987, after the death of their manager Tony Fletcher. After attempting several projects solo or with other musicians (The Sun And The Moon, Invincible...), Mark Burgess decided in 2000 to go back to the roots under the moniker THE CHAMELEONS VOX (the voice of the Chameleons), together with original drummer John Lever and other musicians.
