Mark Burgess (vocals) from The Chameleons Vox
Led by Mark Burgess, one of the most important singers / songwriters / poets in the history of rock (and one of my "heroes"), THE CHAMELEONS have marked the '80s by producing beautifully crafted psychedelic post-punk, for instance on the jewel albums ‘Script of The Bridge’ or ‘Strange Times’. Unfortunately, the band called it quits in 1987, after the death of their manager Tony Fletcher. After attempting several projects solo or with other musicians (The Sun And The Moon, Invincible...), Mark Burgess decided in 2000 to go back to the roots under the moniker THE CHAMELEONS VOX (the voice of the Chameleons), together with original drummer John Lever and other musicians.

Doc (drums) of BELOW
BELOW is an epic doom act from Sweden, their music is heavily influenced by BLACK SABBATH, CANDLEMASS and KING DIAMOND. After I wrote a nice and benevolent review of their debut album (in which I mentioned that I’d like to interview them) I got a surprise mail from Doc saying that he would like to be interviewed. What a nice circumstance!

Timur Karakus (vocals) from Schöngeist
It’s always interesting to discover new music for yourself. I don’t even know how it happens, but accidentally you find something you’ve been looking for a long time and this is exactly how it was with SCHÖNGEIST whose music appeared to be like a breath of fresh air. It’s for me of course, without comparing or drawing parallels with other bands. And finally I’ve got a chance to talk about this music with Timur Karakus, the mastermind of the project. So after some traditional technical problems and a general talk we smoothly passed on to the discussion of SCHÖNGEIST, the band’s music and related notions. The whole thing is below, just read and enjoy!

The Horrorist
Oliver Chesler, aka THE HORRORIST, is a famous Techno/ EBM musician from New York. Everybody knows his hit ‘One Night In New-York City’. We had the chance to interview him after his live show at the Rockerill festival, a festival curated by Elzo Durt and his label Teenage Menopause Records, which was taking place in a decaying steel factory (originally called Cockerill, hence the name Rockerill) in the Belgian industrial town of Charleroi.

With ‘Beyond The Cycles Of Time’, WHISPERS IN THE SHADOW, probably Austria´s longest serving Goth-Rock outfit (being around for 18 years now), released the last album of a tetralogy on 4th April. After the release we spoke with band leader Ashley Dayour to dig deeper into the new record.
