Epica
Dutch symphonic-metal band EPICA is closing down their gig activity at the end of June, since Simone is expecting a baby. Yet, before this is happening, EPICA was apparently put up quite a tour, with places to visit in some past months such as Indonesia, China, Taiwan, Russia, Australia, Dubai and Mexico. (Everyone be envious of flight miles they collected in the meantime). The tour is promoting their 2012 album ‘Requiem for the Indifferent’. They do not plan a dense schedule, when a band plays every day, rather aiming for some really wide coverage. Thankfully, EPICA likes Finland and won't mind playing there. Interestingly, those other Northern Countries are not in their favour quite that much: the last Swedish tour was in 2010 (according to their webpage)! Finns know how to receive a metal band and fans are guaranteed to show up in number.

Wave Gotik Treffen Day 3: Solar Fake, Fjoergyn, Nomans Land, The Birthday Massacre, Welle:Erdball and Lacrimosa
Saturday promised to be one of the best days of the WGT 2013. The weather was great and so was the mood. The day began in the Kohlrabizirkus which was already nicely filled and continued at the picturesque Heidnisches Dorf. Different styles of music awaited us: from electronic beats to rock and metal… everyone’s desires could be fulfilled. Therefore, we happily took one of the filled trams and drove around Leipzig to dance, sing along and enjoy some great music.

Coal Chamber, In This Moment, Nekrogoblikon & Huntress
What a package! COAL CHAMBER, a band many thought that would never play live again after they split, was coming to the Matrix and with them, there were three more high-class bands waiting for the audience. This was promising to be a long and loud night…

Wave Gotik Treffen Day 2: Naughty Whisper, Altar of Plagues, The Vision Bleak, Dordeduh, Paradise Lost and IAMX
The second day started with a little rain which quickly turned into some sunshine. After a short night – due to the midnight special on day 1 – we decided to take a look at some harder bands and so we made our way to the Kohlrabizirkus in order to enjoy guitar based sounds. However, we could, of course, not miss out on the midnight special on this day in the Agra: IAMX. Saturday also is the day of the second big arrivals and so, the city was even more crowded. Leipzig was now almost completely covered in black and some other shades of darker colours. However, the people of the city were as friendly as always and everyone felt welcomed. Having this as a basis, the people happily started in the weekend filled with great bands.

Poets of the Fall
Poets of the Fall (hereafter POTF) is one famous Finnish rock band. They know some good ways about how to become popular, even without massive promotion and even abroad Finland. Their heyday was around 2006, when they were celebrating 2 platinum records and ended up in Max Payne game OST.
