Zitadelle, Berlin, Germany
19th June 2013
Ben Howard and John Smith
During the last few weeks, Berlin celebrates the Citadel Music Festival 2013 again at Zitadelle Spandau, like every year. The Zitadelle was once one of the most important fortresses in Europe in the Renaissance and now it is the summer scene of a comprehensive, no less varied concert series. Many artists will perform this summer at the beautiful fortresses, today JOHN SMITH and BEN HOWARD. A little bridge leads over the fortress dig to the big entrance porch. In the yard awaits the visitor a little festival world. It’s a green, snug and spacious place. You can buy some ice cream or some old records from a little stall. And of course cold beer and delicious food. Festival feeling! Would be nice to have that things on other concert places, too.

Amphitheater, Gelsenkirchen, Germany
21st June 2013
Dead Can Dance & David Kuckhermann
When DEAD CAN DANCE visited us last time in October, for the first time after seven years with the new album ‘Anastasis‘, the first one after 16 years, the announcement of the tour alone was causing sheer excitement. Within a glimpse, all five shows were sold-out. And any single show was a revelation. As if they never had a break, Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry were performing on stage. And now, they are back in Germany again!

Live-Music-Hall, Cologne, Germany
20th June 2013
The Smashing Pumpkins & NO
With hits such as ‘Disarm’, ‘Bullet with Butterfly Wings’ and ‘1979’, Billy Corgan and his band can be counted as one of the biggest rock bands from the nineties. After a break, the band reformed in 2005, releasing the album ‘Zeitgeist’ in 2007. Their newest work blends well with the old classics resulting in the perfect material for a series of live shows. It’s to be called rather unique to see THE SMASHING PUMPKINS in a relatively small venue instead of the big arena’s and festivals! The Live-Music-Hall in Cologne was sold-out months before the show, so this was promising to be a hot boiling event!

Rosenhof, Osnabrück, Germany
19th June 2013
Bob Geldof
His latest solo album ‘How To Compose Popular Songs That Will Sell’ was released in 2011, being presented live at an exclusive show case in Berlin and is presented now to a wider audience. BOB GELDOF, the legendary Live-Aid initiator and ex front-man of the BOOMTOWN RATS, who was knighted by the British Queen, always said that he – as a child of the sixties – is generally only interested in two things: music and politics. And so, he connects those two interests in his music. We took our chance to see this extraordinary musician live on stage on Osnabrück on the so far hottest day of the year, turning the Rosenhof into some kind of sauna.

Stade de France, Paris, France
15th June 2013
Depeche Mode & Douglas J. McCarthy
So here I am in this giant French stadium named "Le Stade de France". I didn't want to go and see them in my homeland (UK) as English crowds has never been the most supportive for DEPECHE MODE shows. My heart balanced between Germany and France until last minute and it's due to luck that I'd managed to find last minute tickets for Paris. The atmosphere was the closest you could find to the Pasadena's cult concert, at least in our imagination as few of us was really there. I won't go through a detailed track by track review and will manage to go straight to the point: I hated this concert.
