M’era Luna 2009 Day 1 Main Stage: Nightwish, Apocalyptica, Peter Heppner, Blutengel, The Birthday Massacre, Oomph!, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, Letzte Instanz, Krypteria, Whispers in the Shadow, No More
The 10th edition of M’era Luna is already over. And let me tell you, it was a full success. About 23,000 visitors were celebrating peacefully at the airport Drispenstedt. And also the weather god seemed to like us. Against all forecasts it stayed dry and warm during the whole weekend. With NIGHTWISH, the main stage had a great headliner to offer at the first festival day, but also the other bands, like Cello-metallers APOCALYPTICA or Canadian gummy-bear-group THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE rocked the crowd.

Veltins Arena, Gelsenkirchen, Germany3rd August 2009
U2, Snow Patrol
The probably biggest Rock band of today brings the probably biggest and one of the most innovative stages on tour. U2 bring their “360° Tour” to the football stadiums and arenas of the world, and we checked their stop in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, to see what this huge stage called “The Claw” looks like, and how the Irish band sounds in 2009. U2 is the world’s biggest Rock act - that’s what the media tells you at least. And it might be true, especially when you’re too young to remember the Stones. However, seeing U2 live was a first for me, and the second chance to check out a huge stadium show in front of almost 70,000 people within a couple of weeks after seeing DEPECHE MODE on the “Tour Of The Universe” a few weeks ago.

Villapark, Regensburg, Germany31st July 2009
Corvus Corax, Zwielicht
On this sunny, warm Friday evening, it was a joy to me to make my way to the Villapark Festival in Regensburg. The festival area is situated next to the Danube and consists of an old royal villa which looks rather like a castle with its towers and a great park. Would be the perfect location for bands like Corvus Corax and Zwielicht...

Amphi Festival 2009 Day 2 Theater: Camouflage, The Gathering, KMFDM, Henke, Qntal, Omnia, Jesus On Extasy, The Other, Rosa Crvx
Different than planned, the program of the second stage has been transferred to the Theater stage for the already known reasons. Luckily, entrance into the Theater went smooth, but very soon there was a big delay in the schedule not only caused by two musicians of QNTAL who were stuck into traffic jams. So, at the end, KMFDM and FRONT 242 were playing at the same time - different than planned - much to the dislike of many attendees. With the show of CAMOUFLAGE, the festival found a very good end anyway.

Gothic Festival 2009 Day 2: DAF, Blutengel, The Klinik, Diorama, Henke, Winterkälte, The Birthday Massacre, Spiritual Front, Lacrimas Profundere, Monolith, Miss Construction, XMH
After we had celebrated quite a little during the night before, we were quite tired when we arrived at the festival area at around twelve. Thanks to the best merch guys ever (you know who you are) we got some good and strong coffee to wake up and so we were perfectly prepared for the bands to come during the day. Personnel highlights for me were THE KLINIK, DIORAMA, BIRTHDAY MASSACRE and DAF.
