Bergfest 2023 with Morphose (feat. Lennard A. Salomon, Sascha Klein, Sven Friedrich), Absurd Minds, Neuroticfish, Rotersand, Sono
In the Bergtheater Thale on the Hexentanzplatz in the Harz Mountains, the Bergfest had its premiere 2019. After the forced break caused by the Corona pandemic, the small festival went into the second round in 2022. Since the original venue could not be used due to major renovations, the festival initially was moved to the Mark Fortress in Magdeburg. In 2023 the festival returns to the Harz Mountains. Unfortunately, the Bergtheater is still being renovated a new location was found in the dreamy little Ballenstedt.

One Republic - Live 2023 - Support: Mishaal Tamer + Tom Gregory
ONE REPUBLIC, one of the biggest hit makers, came to visit the Sparkassenpark in Mönchengladbach on this beautiful evening. The US-Americans are responsible for many songs that you can hear on the radio every day. The support artists MISHAAL TAMER and TOM GREGORY provided the warm-up programme. At a kind of market, the mixed-age audience could indulge in culinary delicacies before the concert began. From the kebab stand to the Chinese snack bar, every visitor found his or her favourite.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Special Guest: Iggy Pop - Support: The Mars Volta
This is how “HOT” the RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS were in Mannheim! Around 35,000 Rock fans flooded the Mannheim Maimarkt grounds on Monday evening. The reason? THE RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS played their only concert in Germany in wonderful, very hot summer weather, supported by IGGY POP and THE MARS VOLTA.

Wave Gotik Treffen 2023 Day 4 with Ploho, Forced to Mode, Eisfabrik, Front Line Assembly, The Mission
No matter how long the festival takes place, the last day always comes as a surprise. And this feels even stronger at WGT, which we tend to stretch to almost a week. The weather was holding really well the whole time which is always a plus at a festival. This year’s addition felt quite balanced to me and I didn’t get into much stress, though I heard of many people who were at times experiencing entry stop at certain venues. The last day was well spent with lunch at Moritzbastei meeting friends, a quick visit at Haus Leipzig and wrapped up at Agra this year.

Wave Gotik Treffen 2023 Day 3 with Traitrs, Vision Video, Lebanon Hanover, Diary of Dreams, Deine Lakaien, J:Dead, Empathy Test, Solitary Experiments, De/Vision
WGT Sunday started with a lovely Reflections of Darkness team breakfast at café Endless in the city centre of Leipzig. Highly recommend this spot also outside of WGT for cozy atmosphere, beautiful decorations and tasty (also) vegan food options. The night before was spent at the camp ground, sharing some wine and talking about life which is also an integral part of the festival experience. Such events as WGT are wonderful opportunities to catch up on old friends’ lives, but also to meet and get to know more new people. The weather was again quite hot already in the morning, so hiding inside while enjoying good food and company was definitely the way to go on this Sunday morning.
