Saltatio Mortis, Ratsbane
Some people already knew the news about Saltatio Mortis. Just a few days before the concert they put the message on their official homepage: Three musicians will leave Saltatio Mortis! So this evening in Pforzheim was going to be really the last concert with the original founding members. Many fans read the news and so the interest was big. The concert room wasn’t big, but there were many people.

Lacuna Coil, Poisonblack and Gothminister
An interesting experiment, indeed! I was called upon, for this event, even though I know nothing about the bands, and – for whatever I could imagine they might be doing – don’t care! Don’t get me or ROD wrong here: OK, I was perhaps the last shot but I’ve been in music business for 20 years. And I totally respect the fact that we all have personal taste. I hope you do the same. But bear in mind that, this night I saw myself as a cow on thin ice. Which - of course - is extremely appealing :-D

Rosenhof, Osnabrück, Germany
03rd November 2006
Zeraphine, Entwine
Somehow, November in Germany means one concert highlight hunting the next one. Tonight, the time for ZERAPHINE has been come to perform in the very nice previous cinema Rosenhof in Osnabrück. After three studio albums, the band recently released the fourth one “Still” which is of course presented live on stage. Together on tour are the Finnish metal heads ENTWINE who released also a new album – “Fatal Design” – in summer. These two bands together are quite a strange combination – hard meats soft and fast means slow in some way. So, I was very curious how this musical mix will work.

Musikhalle, Ludwigsburg, Germany
8th October 2006
Qntal, Unto Ashes
When I saw QNTAL were coming to Ludwigsburg on this Sunday evening in October, I was sure to go there, as I know and like this band for many years now. The Musikhalle is the perfect location for such a concert; it is well restored and looks like one of these small, but very nice old theatre houses, with curtains in red velvet and fine acoustics. So I kind of felt like going to the opera when I arrived, as many of the visitors were in evening dress - only the prevalent color black reminded you of the fact that this was going to be a special evening. The audience was sitting the whole length of the concert, which I don’t appreciate very much, as some of QNTAL’s songs almost invite you to dance along. But first, the visitors were received by UNTO ASHES’ enchanting melodies.
