The Specials
THE SPECIALS formed under the name THE (COVENTRY) AUTOMATICS in 1977 but quickly changed their name one year after. Following the two albums 'Specials' and 'More Specials', the band in its original form split up in 1981. In 2008, word got round that they would once again reform for a 30th anniversary tour. Every year in August, countless people dressed in black make a pilgrimage to Hildesheim, attracted by all kinds of gothic tunes. Two stages, both in the open and indoor, offer a versatile range of music, accompanied by a medieval market and fashion shows. The second festival day was starting pretty wet. It was raining cats and dogs and this affected pretty much the shows on the main stage until the afternoon. Afterwards, it finally remaned dry for the rest of the day…

Saturday afternoon, about 30°C and 3,800 fans of electronic music going on a pilgrimage towards the Columbia Area in Berlin: it was time for the E-Tropolis Festival 2011. Bands like WELLE:ERDBALL, AGONOIZE, SUICIDE COMMANDO and, of course, VNV NATION already promised it to be a night to remember and they surely fulfilled the high expectations. So, after getting press passes and making our way through the black crowd, XOTOX was about to play and everybody was looking forward to a night filled with the finest electronic music: BÄSSER, HÄRTER, LAUTER!
