Album Review
Two years after ‘Pins and Needles’, THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE [TBM] from Canada are back with a new (5th) album titled ‘Hide and Seek’ .TBM are one of a few groups that all of their releases until are above average. ‘Hide and Seek’ continues this series of good releases with no big differences on their sound from their previous albums. In this album we will find '80s synth melodies, stacked industrial guitars and Chibi's sweet but sinister voice. The album contains ten tracks with total duration 36 minutes something which is the only minus of the album. We will meet in the album some heavy tracks like ‘Down’ (one of the heaviest tracks the ever released), catchy tunes like ‘Need’ and slower songs like ‘Play With Fire’. The production is very good polished and rich with textures. The final words: We have a catchy addictive album with catchy songs good sound and Chibi's voice shines once again! As I wrote the duration of the album is very short but the quality of the songs makes this switching to second place.
