Rodney Orpheus (vocals, vocoder, synthesisers, drum machines) from The Cassandra Complex
The new album by THE CASSANDRA COMPLEX has been eagerly awaited. On May 6th, 2022, the time has come: ‘The Plague’ will be released. It is the first new album in 22 years and it definitely has what it takes to become a classic: THE CASSANDRA COMPLEX remains true to their unmistakable style and combine electronic elements with rocking guitars and fast punky rhythms with dark gothic elements. I had the opportunity to talk to the charismatic frontman Rodney Orpheus about ‘The Plague’ as well as the history of THE CASSANDRA COMPLEX, their musical development and Rodney’s most important musical influences.

Tomas Pettersson from Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio
ORDO ROSARIUS EQUILIBRIO are masters at building an absolutely magical atmosphere through their sounds and lyrics. They provoke thinking, slowing down, and contemplating, but they also give space to dive into the world of sounds, imagery, symbols, and their definition of the world; they invite us to the places where beautiful music carries hidden meanings and messages. The art they offer has the quality of a Chinese Box - with every layer uncovered, there comes next, even more enchanting. The new EP entitled ‘La Fleur du Mal’ was out in March. The full album ‘Nihilist Notes (And the Perpetual Quest 4 Meaning in Nothing)’ will be out in May. I thought the two events were enough to ask Tomas Pettersson - the leader of ORE - a few questions. What I came out of it was not only a discussion about the new or the upcoming release but, foremost a sincere comment about the condition of society and its fears, pains and frustrations.

Before the band starts the tour, Douglas, Bon, David and Simon briefly answered Janos Janurik’s interview questions. They talked about the pandemic times, about the US tour from the end of last year that went a bit funny and also about their upcoming concerts (also with NINE INCH NAILS).

T.R. Lily (Bass Guitar, E-Drums, Vocals) & M.D. Ramone (Guitar, Synths, Vocals) from Flingern Attic
Düsseldorf is known as one of the most important cities for electronic music. KRAFTWERK, DAF, RHEINGOLD, FEHLFARBEN - the list of influential artists of the Düsseldorf scene is long. I was very happy to discover FLINGERN ATTIC, a new band from Düsseldorf. T.R. Lily and M.D. Ramone founded the project in 2019. In their music, the two combine their preferences for electronic and guitar-driven music. As the name of the band suggests, T.R. Lily and M.D. Ramone both come from the Düsseldorf district of Flingern. Now they have their new EP ‘New Musick’ at the start, which of course was created in Düsseldorf - in an attic in Flingern. So, I met them both in Flingern, where it all started, for an interview.
