Blackfield Festival Day 2: Colony 5, Iris, Solar Fake, Diorama, Northern Lite, Catastrophe Ballet, Modcom, Samsas Traum, Subway to Sally, Nitzer Ebb
The second day of the festival started very warm and sunny. After a good night’s sleep we made our way back to Gelsenkirchen very early and so, we had quite some time to meet up friends before the concerts started. Saturday was my favourite festival day featuring NITZE EBB and DIORAMA - two bands I like a lot.

Billy Idol
As I was coming out of the Fillmore West in San Francisco after BILLY IDOL’s sold-out show there, I was kicking myself for never having seen him perform live before. After all, he is a rock music icon, a legend in his own right and deservedly so with the large number of hit songs he has produced over the past quarter century. This tour, built around his latest release, ‘The Very Best of Billy Idol: Idolize Yourself’ not only incorporates his classics, but also highlights a couple of new songs that are almost guaranteed to be big hits themselves. http://www.billyidol.net/ / www.myspace.com/BillyIdol

Serj Tankian, Inme
To most of us Mr. SERJ TANKIAN is very well known as the singer and one of the founding members of the Alternative/Metal formation SYSTEM OF A DOWN. In October 2007 he released ‘Elect the Dead’, his first solo album, in the US and some European countries via Serjical Strike (his own record company) and Reprise Records. And of course he went on tour with his new stuff, and still is touring - he will for example play various summer festivals like the Ozzfest (USA), Sziget (HUN) or Highfield (D) Festival. To his appearance at the Filharmonie in Filderstadt near Stuttgart he had brought with him the UK group INME as a support, who have just released ‘DayDream Anonymous’ via Graphite Records last year. http://www.filharmoniefilderstadt.de/

Seidensticker Halle, Bielefeld, Germany
30th June 2008
Die Ärzte, Blowfly
After a concert in Münster in May once again we could enjoy the "best band of the world", as DIE ÄRZTE call themselves, at their current tour "Jazzfäst". At 30th June we visited their show in Bielefeld at the "Seidenstickerhalle". When we arrived, the venue was well filled and the temperature inside was already high, but before we could enjoy DIE ÄRZTE, we had to go through the support band BLOWFLY.
