Dimmu Borgir, Amon Amarth, Engel
After intensive trips to different festivals this summer the most famous black metal band Dimmu Borgir started their European and North American tour "The Invaluable Darkness Tour" in The Netherlands. The first day they played in the sold-out venue the Melkweg in Amsterdam. Now, one day later, on this Monday evening they stood in the nearly sold out main hall of the venue 013 in Tilburg. I was very excited to finally see them. The last time I "saw" them live was at the Graspop Festival in Belgium. The tent they stood in was overcrowded. I was standing in the back so I couldn't see a damn thing. But what I heard sounded marvellous, so my expectations about their concert were high this evening.

DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER, Runkel
DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER is a band I’ve heard a lot of things of and I wasn’t really sure how they would perform on stage. I did see them at this year’s Wacken but they really weren’t the band I was expecting to see at that time. But this night changed all my expectations and I was really happy, I did go to the concert but my neck sure was not!

Wir sind Helden, One-Two
Since their song ‘Denkmal’ has been released, WIR SIND HELDEN are known all over Germany and other parts of mid-Europe. Then, they started playing big shows all over the country, and now, they are back with their new tour. Judith’s vocals you notice out of a couple of hundred and so, every concert of the so-called “Helden” will be an experience on its own. Also the show in the sold-out Palladium in Cologne on 12th October was. The evening was opened by ONE TWO.

Faun, Sieben, In Gowan Ring
Pagan Folk Festival. Maybe a bit of an exaggerated name for 3 bands playing but still, it was bound to be a good evening. After the bands there was an elf dance night so many in the audience were dressed up and that is always fun to see. The evening was sold out!

Blutengel, Adam
BLUTENGEL disunites the German Gothic scene; there are many fans who like the band's danceable songs and catchy melodies as well as its vocalist Chris Pohl - who is also quite successful with his other electronic projects TERMINAL CHOICE and TUMOR. But there are others blaming the band of being too shallow concerning both music and lyrics, and of flirting too much with the mainstream. This autumn night BLUTENGEL were to appear in the Rockfabrik Ludwigsburg, and though they surely are not my favourite band, I had decided to give them a chance, as I had never experienced them live before.
