29th August & 30th August 2008
In Extremo and End of Green
Notorious for their great live performances, IN EXTREMO selected venues that they described as “handpicked and intimate” and which they themselves personally love in their Ius Primea Noctis (Right of the First Night) Tour. This led to a level of expectation that I wasn’t sure they could live up to. How wrong I was, for I was present at two of the best concerts I have ever attended.

Zita Pop: Psyche, Mesh, Camouflage, And One
The summer with all the great festivals comes to an end and on the last Friday in August, another small festival took place in Berlin - the Zita Pop Open Air 2008. The festival was small but fine, situated idyllically in the patio of an old historic fortress in Berlin-Spandau and loaded with a great line up. I was very happy that I could enjoy this nice festival and full of expectation I entered the Zitadelle Spandau at late Friday afternoon.

Area4 Festival Day 2: Hutchinson, Paulus, The Kilians, Science Fiction Army, Smoke Blow, Mr. Virgin & His Love Army, Everblame, Less Than Jake, RainteaR, aVid*, Pennywise, Ghost of Tom Joad, Madsen, EL*KE, Serj Tankian, Disco Ensemble, Millencolin, Biffy Clyro, The Hives
After a good sleep at home in my own bed we made our way to the close festival are laying down in brilliant sunshine. Perfect weather for an open air festival! After THE HIVES were already present at last year’s Area4 edition they were headlining the second festival this year. But there were of course some more highlights on the schedule. I was especially looking forward the show of SERJ TANKIAN; most people might know him already as singer of SYSTEM OF A DOWN. [DV]
