This year it was already the 3rd edition of this Dutch Underground Lifestyle event. In the city of Utrecht several venues took part in this event and besides the music there were many other activities. There was a gothic picnic, a city walk, showing all beautiful gothic sights of Utrecht and a gothic market where you could find a new outfit or just accessorise the one you already had.

The day was rainy, muddy and the dark clouds didn’t make it easier to enjoy the gig. Harmed with a red 'thing' I survived the more then four hours rain. In the end of the day everybody was tired, cold and not pleased. But that doesn’t change the fact that there were some great bands and some of them were even historical. Besides the weather the long time surviving on the campingside was a little problem: all the energy reserves seemed to be gone, but after a hot shower the spirit came back. (SD)

Mia.
Mia. are one of the outraiders of a new wave of German music bands who combine catchy Pop appeal with Punk attitude and influences from three decades of (German) underground music. Anröchte, Germany
06th August 2005
Oomph! and MIA.
“Big Day Out” is a quite small festival in the German area „Sauerland“. This year it was organised for the third time on 5th and 6th August. But even though it’s not comparable with the big festivals like M´era Luna or Rock am Ring, they managed to sign some top-class bands like Oomph!, Farin Urlaub Racing Team, MIA., Silbermond, Exilia, Juli, H-Bloxx or Fettes Brot for the two days. So, about 6,000 people each day made their way to the small town Anröchte to see all that bands on two stages what means that the festival was sold out. With 37 EUR for a festival ticket the process were very moderate what is also true for beverages and food. On the festival area there were also a chill out and info area. Camping was also possible. The organisation was perfect though and anything (at least as far as I can say) worked without any problems. http://www.jzi.de/events/2005/bdo3/bigdayout_frm.htm
