Tyske Ludder, DAF
What’s best on a cold, cold winter’s night when you’re even freezing you’re hands off with your gloves on? A sweat inducing concert and the only DAF show of the "Der 30-jährige Krieg - als wär's das letzte Mal" tour in the Ruhr area promised to be such an event and besides, when you’re getting a chance to see a cult formation like DAF you don’t pass it up.

In Extremo - Sängerkrieg / The Black Sheep
Yes, it’s a cold winter. So much the better that IN EXTREMO put the heating on full blast at the end of the last year - last but not least because of their Pyro-Show & Fire-Stuff on their stage. The guys choose the arena Treptow for their Berlin show... possibly not the best choice. The arena has although a nice ambiance but the building has not the optimal acoustics.

Palladium, Cologne, Germany

INEXTREMO and THE BLACK SHEEPFor a purpose built auditorium, rather than a multi purpose arena, the Palladium is huge, with a vast staff who manage to make sure that there are even minimal queues when leaving and collecting your coat... very impressive.

Dark X-Mas Festival 2008: Kloq, Rotersand, Diary of Dreams, Nitzer Ebb
Our fifth and last Christmas festival took place in the South of Germany, at Augsburg’s Rockfabrik. Like the other evening in Ludwigsburg, the line-up consisted of KLOQ, ROTERSAND, DIARY OF DREAMS and NITZER EBB. Despite being Monday, already several people waited in front of the closed doors to get in. An uncommon arrangement of seats (right, left, and two metres parallel to the stage) awaited us in the venue. That gave a cosy impression and so we nailed down a good spot pretty much at the front.

Christmas Metal Symphony
The Christmas Metal Symphony is an initiative from Joost van den Broek. He is the keyboard player in the Dutch band After Forever. For this Symphony he didn't use his own band (not all of the members at least) but musicians from metal bands all over the world. All these musicians and vocalists were accompanied by the Magnum Opus Rockestra. The perfect orchestra for the occasion.
