Grave Digger, Alestorm & Taletellers
The band GRAVE DIGGER is definitely one of the founding fathers among the German Heavy Metal scene. Screamer Chris Boltendahl and his troops have always been an especially creative part of the business, as they can look back on an eventful career that started in 1980. On 9th January 2009, they released their latest album ‘Ballads of a Hangman’. The sixth concert of the ‘Hangman’-Tour (that will lead them through Europe from January to March) took place in the Colos-Saal in Aschaffenburg on 20th January 2009.

Vintage Electronic Festival: No More, Vomito Negro, Click Click
Belgium, Germany and the north of England were the centres of the New Wave, Industrial & EBM explosion in the 1980s. At the VINTAGE ELECTRONIC FESTIVAL in Bochum got a fine (well) vintage act from each of these alternative music strongholds. The Zwischenfall club in Bochum is probably for the Alternative/Goth scene in West Germany as essential as all those pioneering bands hailing from Central Europe and the UK. It was pretty much the first and for quite a while the only club in the area where you could listen to all the early heroes of Goth, EBM, Industrial and Wave. And see gigs of them! So it truly made sense that the VINTAGE ELECTRONIC FESTIVAL featuring CLICK CLICK, VOMITO NEGRO and NO MORE plus a whole bunch of DJs back from the day took place at this legendary club.

Passionskirche, Berlin, Germany
22nd December 2008
Corvus CoraxThe venue has to be one of the prettiest I have ever attended, set as it is in Marheinekeplatz, a small square in Kreutzberg, Berlin, where there was an evening Christmas Market going on to start the excellent atmosphere of the night off. Crowds of all ages milled happily about looking at the stalls and drinking Glühwein as they waited for the doors to open.
